There have been some spotty posts, but nothing really concrete on this. Does anyone have the HUMMER Tac bike, and do you like it? I need a mountain bike, and I would like one that folds so I don't have to mess around with a roof rack or whatever. There's an H3 model, an LX, and the XT. The XT is $2,000, and the LX is $750ish. So I will probably go with the LX, since:
1. It's yellow
2. It's cheaper.

And I just got some HUMMER sandals from Amazon, and I really like them. They were $30 bucks with shipping. And you get free return shipping.

Well, apparently I ordered the last pair!! They are listed also for $67 with another seller! I really like them so far, though 12 might be just a bit small for me.

Aubs,
The Hummer bike is crap unless you are just want to something cool looking to drive around on paved roads.

If you want a real mountain bike to ride Colorado trails, look elsewhere. You can PM me if you want. Give me a price range and I'll point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the replies. Too bad the HUMMER Tactical bike brings teh suck. I was hoping it might be decent, because I like the folding bit. I'm looking for something that is sub-$1,000 because I'm not really a hardcore mountain biker, and just want something that is fun to ride around on. And doesn't hurt my lightly padded rear end. :D

Sub $1000? You can get a decent bike for that price. Best value for that money is going to be a Specialized. One like this maybe: http://wheelworld.com/itemdetails.cfm?ID=3665

You have to remember where I'm coming from here:

22342

I just graduated from training wheels.:D

This bike is so awesome. It will go down anything! And the basket on the front is good for picking daisies.

They are good if you're looking for something to be portable in your car, and not take up much room in your house or apartment. More serious mountain-bikers wont like it, but if you go riding as often as I do (once a month?) its probably not a bad idea.

I got one with my 04 Special Addition Victory Red - but - as far as Mountain Bikes go - it sucks.... Loose frame and way too heavy... It makes a nice display and conversation piece however - and its good to know if I ever need to jump out of a plane with a bike - it will perform...

Well, I might get one of these Hummer bikes anyway.

1. I want to piss off all the hippies, which are my enemies again. (The truce is off!!!)
2. I want it to fit in the back of the H2
3. I'm not hardcore, and I care more about the transporting than the riding
4. They come with a 30 day trial period, so if it sucks, and the portability is shadowed by teh suck, then I can return it.
5. I am a moron.

So they are still at Sam's? I might have to go to Denver and pick one up then... $249 is perfect for a bike. Even if it isn't the best...

Will they flip you off for riding a bike that requires more energy thus more food to power it?;)

Well, that depends on what kind of food you're eating. If it's organic, they might be ok. They will probably still throw stones just to be on the safe side. Maybe try to put a branch or two through the spokes too.:D

Well, I have searched around Denver for the Tac bike without avial. So maybe someone wants to get rid of theirs?
