HELP Needed - Brush Guard Install

I recently bought a used factory brush guard off E-bay. Unfortunately, it did not come with instructions or any hardware. Does anyone have the step-by-step instruction or could tell me how to mount this onto my vehichle before I give in and let the dealer install it? I have a 2006 Hummer H2.

I have search this forum for clues without any success! Please Help!!!

It should be pretty self explanatory. If you are talking about a factory one, remove the lower grille piece, (the one with small holes in it), and then simply bolt it on. If you have the factory wrap around, then you will also need to bolt it in place at the hood support cable mounts inside the hood. I can't recall, but you may have to trim the lower grille piece slightly at the edges.
Yes, you will need to trim the lower grille. As Phil said, pull it out (grab and pull). On the back side there are some markings that show where to cut for the lower mounting arms of the brush gard to go through. A fine tooth hack saw or dremel cutting wheel work well for cutting the plastic.

I can't help with the bolt sizes for the lower mounting arms. You'll probably just need to find a local hardware store where they'll let you run out to the truck to try a few out.

If you have the double brush guard there are upper arms (held on by two bolts). You need to replace the short bolts that are just inside the upper grill with some longer ones which will go through the arms on the brush guard, then through some rubber spacers and then into the holes where the short bolts are. You can remove one of the short ones and take it into a hardware store to find a longer one by locating a nut that fits the old bolt...that'll give you the bolt diameter & pitch. These new bolts need to be ~2 inches long and you need a rubber spacer that's about 1 inch thick for the bolts to go through.

Either way it is a 15 minute job for the most mechanically inept, I don't think you'll need to spend money with the dealer for this one. Yep.

It's a shame that the original elcova.com posts are gone between the padding purge and the relocation to the new domain. There was enough info there to figure this all out.
