Some of you know that I have the most wonderful, loving, kind-hearted, beautiful wife who never ever asked anything from me (except for a quieter ride in the H2 a while ago... :p ).

Well, recently I've ugraded my hood panel to a full billet 40lbs major BLING-BLING and matching BLING-BLING set of wipers, which I gotta tell yall -- looks so fawkin awesome with my smoked-out marker lights!

In fact, the other day while I was cruisin along, beautiful sunny day, sunroof open, Black-eyed Peas blastin on the radio... I suddenly realized how amazingly cool my truck really is -- so much so that it literally brought tears to my eyes! So I turned to my gorgeous wife, to share the happiness in my heart -- and BEHOLD!! SHE WAS WIPING OFF TEARS FROM HER EYES TOO!!!

My heart bursting with emotion, my voice trembling with joy -- I asked her, "just awesome ain't it hon?"

She turned to me teary-eyed, and said "huh?"

"The BLING-BLING -- so cool it could just make you cry dun it?" I grinned at her.

"Well..." she hesitated, "actually I've been meaning to talk to you about it.. You see, I know how much you love them, and how happy you were to get em at such a great deal off ebay... but... when the sun struck em at just the right.. er.. wrong angle -- like right now.. the reflection just.. blinded me.. they hurt my eyes baby..." :(

Let me tell you, I was devastated! I had no idea that my wife was hurtin! I told her, "don't worry hon! I will fix it! I will leave no stone unturned to get this resolved!.. Hey, I know -- I'll ask my buddies at Elcova for help!" (to which I'm not sure why she just gave a small shake of her cute little head, and sighed  )

And so, here we are. I'm beggin yall, my good buddies, please tell me how can I limit glare from my blings from hittin the passenger seat? Please, this is a serious question, and I would appreciate SERIOUS answers only thank you very much. No stoopid non-answers like, go black-out (I ain't no metro, but I've got S T Y L E -- okay? ). Is there like a glare shield of some kind I can use while drivin? Maybe some kind of metallic transparent spray for the windshield? I need help!!

Much obliged!!!!!!!!!!!!

LMAO:D sorry H.:(

Maybe you could adjust the angle of your accessories just a little bit. Or get windshield tint- either full (with an optomitrists medical waiver) or just on the lower portion. I dunno.

But my advice is get rid of it if you can't find a perfect solution. I like you and know you love your new stuff- but I like your wife more.;):)

So funny, I was just cruising Hermosa Beach today thinking "Damn, these chrome wiper blades are blinding me". A while back, I sprayed my ever so usefull chrome hood handles black for the same reason. I will still need to replace the blades with black though as I've found nothing to cut the glare. I guess things could be worse, it could be raining.:)

But seriously..........

Take out the passenger seat and re-install it so it faces rearward. Not only will that fix the bling-glare problem, it will prevent her exposure to watching your driving. ;) :D

H2F,

I think you're just trying to find a way out after seeing my rig last week.:p

Buy her a diamond. That glitter should distract her from your rig's glitter.:D

How about getting a second ride - one with a little less bling for when the wifey is along?

one of the few pieces of bling my rig has is billet hood handles. I get sun glare off of the back of them once in awhile. I've always thought of cutting small pieces black no skid tape and putting it on just the back of the handles to stop the glare.

I know this is obvious, but have you tried adjusting the height of the seat?

DOH!!!!!:D

stick a honeycomb filter in your windshield and it will reduce the glare. reduce visibility also, but it will reduce the glare ;)

get some sandpaper and scratch it up :D

A very simple solution for all the surfaces that reflect light - rough up the surface with sandpaper and paint it flat black:D

I tell yall, my very first impluse was to layer parts of my BLING with my beloved electrical tape. But I just can't do it. The thought of all that glorious sparkling billet covered up and made tasteless just make me feel... impotent, ya know?

But thank you all for the great advices so far. I shall get the love of my life to put on her Chanel sunnies, lean her seat all the way back, and just admire her diamond rings(sss).

Let us all hope that will do the trick..

Tint the entire windshield. I have mine tinted at 50%, it takes the glare off things, plus will match your smoked out marker lights!

That's why I suggested getting a medical waiver from an eye doctor- it will get you out of the ticket if kept in the glove compartment- makes it vewy dawk in there tho. But I think in deicockingstockingstutankhamen's case it is legal in FL.

Our tint law changed last year so that now you can't get inspection stickers if you have something darker than 35%. This reminded me that I need to get the form to get my neurologist to sign off on.

They use digital readers at all of the inspection stations now, so it's a crummy deal.

FL is a little more lenient when it comes to tint. The trick for the windshield is...do the entire thing as it's way less obvious than having a sunstrip that is clearly too tall.

The worse that will happen is you get a fix-it ticket and you pay it or get the tint removed, signed off on and then re-tint it to stick it to the man!

You can't even tell that it's not the way it's supposed to be...unless another h3 happens to be right next to me.

Must suck to have to do inspections! But there are always ways around having to make your car legal to still pass. ;)

I would just do a ray trace for all possible anges of the sun for every surface of the Bling, do a simple correlation of sun angle and direction of travel, then program the seats to move her out ot the way of the glare.
YOU should be able to program that in using inputs from the GPS for direction of travel, position of the sun.
THe program would move theeat up and down, foprward or aft and recline to getthe optimum comfort position and reduced glare.

BTW, How are you doing H2F

Yes, but get a 32 processor 3.2 Ghz Silly G to process the info and and a link in to the NOAA with a direct feed to the NPOSAS/ATMS and SSMIS satellites to get up to date atmospheric conditions.

I still say scratch it up to diffuse the reflection.:D

Very sorry to bring up an old thread..

But my good buddies, I am once again desperately in need of your expertise...! :crying:

You see, I did manage to solve the earlier problem by the simple and cost-saving method of simply NOT washing my rig. The accumulation of road grime, dust, some mud, and bug splatter nicely cuts the glare from my BLING BLING chrome wiper, with OUT having to resort to the (horror!) blacking out of my rig. Here in SoCal, where it NEVER rains, this solution works very well 11 out of 12 months :D

BUT...

I have grown tired of cleaning the not easy to clean, always dirty and yucky black rubber cup holder insert, and thought, "why not cover it with a bit of BLING BLING??", even though I have promised my lovely princess that I am DONE modding my beautifully modded H2! :o

So in a state of momentary weakness, I purchased and added another itty bitty bit of BLING BLING, a SOLID BILLET TRIPLE CHROMED cup holder insert!! WOO HOO!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PC OF CRAFTMANSHIP!! (so I thought at the time..)

Alas, my joy was short-lived.

On another nice sunny afternoon (and of which unfortunately (in this case) they are a-plenty here in SoCal), there I was minding my own business cruisin' down Pacific Coast Hwy, when lo and behold WHAM!!! The sun hits my BLING BLING TRIPLE CHROMED cup holder and reflects the glare to MY EYES!! I had to do a major swerve & slam on brakes to avoid climbing what I-thought-was-a-speed-bump-but-turned-out to-be-a-small-Prius! :crying:

The problem, I discovered, is that since this is INSIDE the Hummer, and I am, by nature, a clean (if not very neat) person, I can't simply keep this interior BLING BLING covered in a nice layer of mud!! :crying:

So my good buddies, I implore you! Help a brah out! What can I possibly do to to cut THIS interior glare with OUT (shudder!) going back to black?!! Am I forever doomed to live with this danger?!! (Even though "danger" IS my middle name..). PLEASE! WHAT DO I DO????!! :crying:

As always, mucho obliged for any SERIOUS answers (ONLY!). PLEASE...!
