Not only is it getting a 6.2L 403hp engine, but it's getting a completely new interior. Should be out this summer(July-ish). Price TBD.
There's also a 7 seater H2 coming. Basically it's just the addition of a 2 place seat in the back. No word on colors.

They've contacted me about making rock rails for it, but we're still $200K apart on the signing bonus.

Good info DRTYFN. Are we going to see this at an auto show before summer? Perhaps NY?

Finally, a new power plant!:dancingbanana: Are you sure?;)

yeah, im really afraid of them turning the interior into something with bling. GM's pickups interiors are getting more blingy. h2's need to have a rugged interior, just my .02

I have already placed my order. i ordered the olive color. I have only seen teh color smapl, so it's hard to say how good it will look. it falls between the orignal green and the desert sand.
I have been working very hard for COHUMMER to get his sign on bonus. since I am the PR Manager for his fast growing enterprise, I see it only fit to get the sign on bonus and split a large portion of it with me.
Drty, I'm sorry you declined the COHUMMER/DRTYFN partnership. you could have had a good thing. :fdance:

i hope they dont screw up the interior with a car like design, like on new gm suvs.

i second that...i dont like the new GM suv interiors. My only suggestion is that they could use less plastic in the H2 interior. But all in all, I am 110% happy with the beast. My wife just said that the local hummer dealer was offering some great rebates and financing on new 07 H2's....perhaps she was hinting for me to get a new one?

I love my 03 STILL!!
However, I hate all the F'in plastic. I may be taking a new job, and if/when I do, I will reward myseld with an New H2 (2008)!

even my wifes 04 trailblazer LT has padded dash and doors on it and it was only $38K so why cant the hummer?
I know they put the money into other things in the truck...yadda yadda....

I like the current H2 interior ya less plastic would be nice, and perhaps a different steeringwheel not so fond of the current one, but other than that i love it! Also i agree with everyone i hope they dont make to escalade like i hope the keep like a Hummer interior.

Can't wait to see the changes! Even old news is good news :giggling:

No worries...I'm used to people doubting me until a little time has passed ;) :D (e.g. 2007 H2s getting BFGs back temporarily, and no more yellow H3s)

If it is a total redesign, I wonder what that will do to resale values on the pre-08's? Who knows, maybe they'll bling it out to much and the older ones will actually increase in value. :fdance:

Somewhere I thought I read that the new SUT is coming out MY 2008....Maybe one of the 4x4 ragazines. Is this the change to the cargo area as stated on that site, or is that the seat reconfig? or does no one really know and talking out their arses!!!:D

This is not considered a redesign. It's a model freshening.
The complete redesign isn't scheduled for at least a couple more years along with the Duramax... ;)

Are they changing anything on the exterior? I hope not. The H1 barely ever changed on the outside.
The side mirrors and radio antennae is the only thing I know of changing on the H2 so far.

Hopefully the outside will stay very similar, but the interior could be up-scaled a bit... (I hope they keep the jet-plane-shifter!) :p
Do you think the new engine will be equipped with GM's FlexFuel engine and/or active fuel management? (Where some valves shut off when not needed?) I think a boost in MPGs will get green peace off our backs and more people into the driver's seat! :D

I was thinking the same thing. The extra horsepower will hopefully give better gas mileage. That active fuel management on the Tahoes sounds awesome but I bet it complicates things under the hood, sounds expensive to fix.
I hope they dont change the exterior. Thats the beauty of Hummer. Only select few know if you have an 03 or an 07.
in my opinion, forget the bling. If I wanted bling I would buy an Escalade. A Hummer should be a truck first, users can add their own bling.

I just went to the Atlantic City custom car show this weekend and Hummer was the only new car vendor there. The rep said that although it is not definate, it is possible that the diesel is in the works for the 08. She stated that GM is working on the diesels to make them more smog compliant for the newer and tougher fed laws. Although at this time these diesels are the planned for other GM trucks, there has been alot of interest in a diesel H2, and it is a possibilty of doing it if they can work out all the extra engineering. She told me that we should know the 08 future by April at the NY show.
