I might be getting a H 2 soon. I know with the spare tire outside you get more room inside .but isnt it really heavy and get old always having to undo the latch and swing it open all the time when you just need to throw something in quick ? and what if you have someone parked close and you cant open it all the way ? Who has it inside and outside and pro and cons on the diffrence of dealing with it on opening it alot everyday ?

I like it on top!:dancingbanana:

I can't fit in the garage anyway and the extra cabin room is awesome

Do some searches on this topic. There are lots of discussions on this. I have mine mounted outside on a swing away tire carrier. I got the one that locks and has the drop down arm. It really doesn't block that much back window view either. It blocked more when it was behind the seat.

Yes, it's a pain to open up when you just want to throw something in quick, but the extra room you have is well worth it. I have the full bench 3rd row seat and can fit 3 kids back there. If you haul a lot of stuff you will like having the extra room.

You cant fit anything bigger than stock size tire or close to inside because it will be to tall. being all wheel drive you need a full size spare.

yeah i can get mine in the garage.. but i had to get a bigger door i have a 9 foot one now.. and it fits fine . the hassle was worth being able to keep it in the garage... now i want a lift .. so might have to make the door bigger...hehehehe!

Out is better for the obvious extra room, but... it's heavy and if you can't bench any real weight then you're in for a spine compression from hell. it's a two person lift kinda job. My girl friend and I have no problem with it and the ladder helps as a slide for going up or down. We use a small piece of rope and an old bed sheet; works great. When we get to old to remove it on our own then plan B comes into play... No, I'm tell you what that is.... here are some pic's of my configuration.

I'm looking at an 07 - the dealer says ONLY on swing away outside carrier . I want to keep it in the garage until out-of-town trip and then lay it flat on the floor . Seems like the rear outside carrier delete would also save a bunch of weight . Anyone ever removed the outside carrier ?
