So, because it's summertime, the kids all hang out late in the neighborhood. My daughter included. One of these other kids, a neighborhood girl, even came to the house last night offering dog walking services and left us her number.

Later, while out and about, our daughter asked this neighbor girl why her brother is so mean. I guess this kid had been calling her "midget" and such. That's a pretty derogatory thing to say to a little person. And the neighbor girl replied that he doesn't like her and had even TP'd her house (and Hummer) twice this year. Funny. ;)

Well, I just got their home phone number from this little girl who wants to walk my dogs! A little reverse phone directory search revealed that they live only 2 blocks over. So, into the Hummer and down the street we go. Right about this time, we pass a few neighborhood boys who scatter when they see us pull up in front of the house. Scared now? Prolly.

The parents are awesome! We really hit it off and talked for a long time. They spent that hour watching for their son but he was hiding out somewhere nearby. We could see all his friends peeking around the corner from time to time. I wish I could say that I never did things like that at 13 years old, but I'd be lying. We were all very understanding of one another. I think everyone is more bothered by the bullying and teasing than we are about the vandalism.

So, this kid's Dad volunteers him for a year of car washing, lawn mowing and snow shoveling! (I hope we have another HUGE winter)

Anyway, just thought I'd fill you guys in. Thank you all (even P and Dei) for all the help.

Glad to hear you got to the bottom of it!!! Sounds like you'll be spending some time finding shiot to keep the little basturd occupied with "busy work" around your house. It'll give him time to think about the error of his ways!!! :jump:

You need to make that kid pay you for the video equipment you bought.

Looks like your neighborhood patrolling is paying off, big time.

Damn right you couldn't have. Sometimes you just need to see things from the perspective of a handsome young intelligent man like myself. Who would have thought the daughter would be the key to unlocking this mystery... I did. And for those who don't know, it was my idea to utilize the phone number from the little girl. Adam wanted to throw it away! Luckily he called me for some assistance before he did.

But that idea you had about getting the little girl to spill the beans about her brother....

Genius. Pure genius.

Seeing as how Adam has dropped the ball on everything else, I figured he wouldn't ask so I took the liberty. No, it was not human. It was dog feces. But... the parents tone kind of changed after they asked their child, I suspect they suspect he was lying.

Good, then at least you can expect a decent job. Are you going to actually follow through with having him do chores for the long haul? I know most would only do it a few times, then it would phase out, and nothing else ever said. I know if I had sh&t on my truck from some neighborhood kids, I'd have them on speed dial.:D

Make sure he gets insurance before he starts detailing your vehicles on a twice a day basis. I doubt he will be able to afford to have all the swirl and scratch marks he will put on the paint professionally removed.

bwwaaahahahahha, have you seen Adam's truck? Swirl marks? scartches? :giggling:

I woul dhave that kid do two things:

1: pick up my dog's sheot
2: wash my truck

And than have a little talk with the brat about respecting the neighbors property and the bullying thing.

hahahahahahaha.

You are the lazy man's IDOL! :D

I'm picturing the scenario where you sit inside watching TV while the guy is outside picking up barrel-fulls of your dog crap. You don't lift a finger, except for at the end of his run where you ask to quick give it a sniff before he hauls it away.

I think you're on the right track. But I bet you this kid comes up with some excuses and the chores slack off after the 1st 1-2. So make it count. Make sure he's washing your truck - in a pink Speedo. And take pics. Lots of pics. Make sure they all make it to the little punk's MySpace page.

You don't need to pick up dog poop! It decomposes and/or gets picked up for free by the lawn care company's equipment or their workers shoes. :twak:

When a vandal comes along
You must sniff it
Before the poo sits out too long
You must sniff it
If it's human or it dog
You must sniff it

try to detect it
it's not too late
to sniff it
sniff it good
