Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, know where it is? Our zebra hummer limo has been dieing on us a few times here and there lately, and we noticed that the temperature guage will be at normal 210 then drop to 0. So we bought a new Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor for 20$ and want to put it in but couldnt find where it was at at first.

Anybody know where it is? Any other suggestions what the problem could be?

IF IT'S A 03 OR 04 THAN it is more than likely the gage(stepper motor). a bad CTS will generaly set a MIL.

if sensor does not fix it. search for guage cluster on ebay

Well we did a tune up, plugs and wires, changed the fuel filter, it has 2 new batteries and a new 2nd alternator. The problem is that the car likes to just die on its own sometimes and then sometimes it wont start back up right away until a minute or two later also there was some black smoke out of the exhaust but only once we noticed it I think. We're going to replace the engine coolant temp sensor because we noticed this problem with the gauge as we were checking for problems about the car dieing.

So anyways where is the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor in the engine? We need to find it to replace it. We already bought the sensor it was only $20.

Anybody know where it is?
