Hi all,

Picked it up saturday, but with the holiday weekend, just finally had time to get pics of it. The nerf bars and roof crossbars will be installed this week once the dealer gets them in, they are no longer a factory installed option. Also tossed in pic of the new garage, landscapers are installing some Versalock planters, then the concrete driveway has to be done. Its been a mess here this summer!

Enjoy....let me know if there are any specific photos you might want in re the new H2

Forgot to add....the new truck has a much more throaty rumble to it over the 2006 that I had....sort of reminds me of an after market catback sound....BUT the sound on the interior isnt any louder....did a great job sound proofing the beast....

What part of the world you from? Pittsburgh PA here. Dont see many of the slate blues either running around. I traded in an 06 Slate Blue on the 08. I couldnt fit in my garage with lights on the roof unless i got one of those type they put on the LE.

Louisiana here, i have those big round lights ontop mine, i have to pull them back to go in any car wash. I love the look of the lights tough, and when someone trys to ride towards me with there brights i put my finger on the trigger and bring the daylight.

i used to bring the dayllight with a GMC Jimmy that I had....had some Cibie lights on the front tube bumper....the opposing car always turned off the brights....

There are part of the old dash that I like better such as the dash bewbies, but I must say the fit and finish on the new interior is light years ahead of the old one.My wife and daughter both liked the old dash better to...they said it was a Hummer dash....

yes I traded the 06 in on it. They gave me $41.5K for my trade, which had 19K miles on it and discounted the new one by $3.5K.

so is there really that big of a difference between the 6.0 and the 6.2? and hows the 6 speed transmission compared to the 4?

Thanks,

Hucky and 3HUMMER - well I think the drivetrain is alot smoother than before. The shifts are not as noticable. I havent really stomped it down too much being its new so I am not sure how noticeable the added power is from full throttle. It might be hard to tell since the tranny is now a 6 speed, so two parameters have changed, both engine and tranny. I see the new brochure is touting a 7.8 or so 0-60 time, and I believe the old truck would do it in about 10 seconds. I did notice it seems to get to 60 MPH faster. So without any data to back it up, it feels quicker. I'll have to get out on the expressway and open it up from a standing stop and see how it winds out.

One thing I did notice is the exhaust is quite a bit louder. Almost sounds like an aftermarket cat back system. You dont hear it inside, but outside its got a very throaty rumble to it. I like it!

Other things I've noticed...gone are the interior squeaks...my 06 didnt have alot of them, but enough to be annoying at times. Fit and finish inside is lightyears better over the fit and finish of the 06.

I think the new wheels will NOT have the pitting issues that us northern folks have with the salted winter roads. Back up camera is a cool option. Nav system takes some getting used to finding things on it touch screen as far as system controls for the stereo etc.

Seems as if the transfer case is alot quieter when shifting into low range.

Seats seem firmer than the other ones, but I think a tad more comfortable....

As always....it gets TONS of looks...but then again...most Hummers do!

Oh and nice garage :D

thanks and thanks....my buddies refer to the garage as the garagemahal....once i get the interior done it will have a bathroom, heat and all the good stuff on the main level, then the upper floor will be for storage or future finished space....

My wife will drive the H2 on occasion but I cannot say that she would want one as "her" vehicle....she likes it and all....but just doesnt see the allure of the H2....

I'll do that once I get it back from the dealer....i've got dash light troubles that they are having a hard time troubleshooting....

ok not gonna lie on thing i think i liked better about prior to "08 models was the dash titties other than that the "08 blows it away. what i think is stupid about these air vents are how you have on control to move them up and down and one to move them side to side that drives me crazy on my H3 it should be just one thing to move it all directions like directly on the vent. Thats how just about every other car i have ever been in is like.
