Its Fixed!

Got my 08 back from the deal yesterday. I had an electrical problem that affected or is it effected the dash back lighting, console lights, roof console lights and the 4x4 selector and diff lock lights as well as the clock.

The dealer replaced the BCM and that didnt fix it. They found that there was a chaffed wire, I didnt ask where, that they had to repair which was shorting out the BCM. Now everything works as it should.

i've always said, if something odd is going to happen it will happen to me. Back in the old days a chaffed wire would just pop a fuse....not anymore....i couldn't believe the things inside the truck that are run by computer and when it went out due to the short they stopped working. I mean come on....why in the heck do the lights on the overhead console need a computer to run?...there is a switch up there to turn them on and off....

me too i was having H2 withdrawals riding around in the damn equinox...you know you really dont think about just how damn nice an H2 is until you ride in something else....

yeah i hear you, i limped mine back from the lake yesterday and won't have it back until tonight. Out wheeling and burnt my powersteering pump up, so I had no powersteering or brakes. Try driving a 7k lb hummer without those! I am driving a 2.3 liter ranger, so the equinox is much better than what i have today.

yikes....guess the equinox wasnt so bad compared to the ranger. I bet that was damn hairy driving that thing with no power assist.

That ranger might have about 100 horsepower....dont let it get away from you with all the muscle under the hood!
