Any ideas on how to take them apart?? or any wiring diagrams of the inside of the mirror? The new models, 2006 +
Got screwed and bought some new style mirrors off of ebay, turns out that someone changed the wiring harness in it to something else for some other truck, does not work on H2, too many wires, wrong connectors and dealer has no idea what they are from, would like to buy cheap older model, even broken one, rip out wiring harness and redo these ones, need some info first.

thanks

Go to the Dealer and complain that your mirrors rattle. Maybe they'll upgrade you to the new style for free? Don't know till you ask??:beerchug:

thanks this is great but I was looking for the newer model, how you take apart the housing on the newer style mirrors, I will keep this because it is a great reference. I want to be able to take apart the newer style mirrors as the one I have was taken apart and rewired with a harness for some other model of truck.

some photos of the mirrors in question

notice the connectors, they are white and Black, not the same amount of wires and the connectors are both too large. I want to be able to take the mirror apart and remove all the wiring, get some new harnesses, maybe off a old style one that have a broken motor, then rewire these ones, then be able to resell them close to what I paid for them on eBay.

the guy I bought them from has not dropped offline, he is a clown and a scammer for sure!!!:notallthere: :notallthere:

I bought the same kind on ebay, just cut the old connectors off my old and resoldered them on the new.....I thought i just told someone on here about this and even posted a picture....You have to solder 1 wire at a time and if you have a vise put both wires in it theold set and the new set and transfer 1 wire at a time, just look where the wires go to, its not that bad.

thanks, what I did was actually got a couple of old broken ones, ripped them apart, took the wiring harness and then used it on the new set, it was great!!!

I am wondering what they old harness was from, what could they have installed these H2 branded mirrors on to???:notallthere:

LonePalm Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!

This guy was a God send!!! I had been working on these for over 6 hours with less than poor results. One Phone call to Lonepalm and with in 10 min. it was working Perfect!!! I dont know how he figured it out but he has to be some sort of genius! He was so willing to help it shocked me. Before I could even ask a question, he was ripping his H2 apart to see what I am seeing. I have never encountered a person so helpful and willing to lend a hand. I will post pics and I will post wire configurations so if anyone else gets into this situation they can have it fixed in 10 min too.

LonePalm thank you once again.

Did you both buy the jacked up mirrors from the same seller on ebay? Definitely post the ID for the guy...

Ok I may be a bit confused, but are you saying you have 2 extra mirrors? I have a 06' with no turn signals and not heated. All I need is the glass if that is possible, had a "buddy" throw out a bottle and cracked the passenger side glass. Let me know if you would be willing to sell. Thanks

.. I will post wire configurations..Do you mean you know what wires does what? Would be very interested to find out which wire does the "fold-in" routine so that I can (finally) have the auto "fold-in" at lock / "fold-out" at unlock like Conrad II's (alegedly ;)).

I do have two extra mirros, (one with no plugs!!!!) they are off a 2004 hummer H2. i am not sure if the glass will fit you 2006 but if so, i would consider selling them to you. they are heated and the motor are fully funtional. the only issue is the folding in motor. i never tried the fold in, fold out, cycle three times things but I never cared that much. if you want pics just let me know and I can post or send them.

I think I know what wires do what. When I unplug the blue plug the motor fold in fold out stops. I only needed to do this to the driver side. My blue plug has Four Wires into it. Try unplugging the Blue plug on the driver side and dont worry about cutting wires. I will go test this right now.

Thanks
