I have heard Mileage numbers in the 20's. Is that correct on a Allison-Duramax?

U could get over 20 mpg if U were going down hill , if your on the go peddle 16 or so, look at the Chevys or GMC trucks about the same.

All of the conversion companies are quoting 18-26 miles. If that is so, Why don't the 2500's have that in the pick ups? I see the H2's with diesels from time to time on Ebay for 75k+ Not too bad when the conversion cost 40k.

I have a 2005 chevy 2500HD ext cab 4x4 with the Dmax/Alli that I bought new in 2004 and I never got better than 16 to 17 MPG and now I a'm getting 15 to 16 MPG . if you do the Diesel swap you will have much better power but don't expect more than 17 mpg . you will also need the transfer case with the Dmax/alli conversion. I don't know if the cost is worth it ,but everyone has an opinion and that's mine. my 03 Hummer h2 gets 12mpg but I only use it to go off road so it ain't that bad.

Yeah I can't see where a H2 will get that much more mileage than a 2500. 40k? Not sure the bang for the buck iss there.

They got 18 mpg going 35mph on a flat highway with a tailwind, and 26mpg coasting in neutral down a hill. With the price of diesel, do you really expect them to be completely honest?
