Hi, sorry for the off topic post -

I'm sure a number of you have garages set up for weekend mechanic work. I'm looking to pick up a 120 volt compressor that has enough beans to run an air gun and a few other tools. Not full time use, just occasional weekend stuff. I'd like something that I don't have to wait 15 minutes between "tank fills" to remove a tire...

That being said, I know that 240 is better, but I only have 120 via a single 15 amp circuit in the garage. I hope to do this without added electrical wiring.

Anyone have experience with one that is decent?

I've been looking at Sears/Home Depot in the $300 range and there really aren't a lot of options. I see that they bundle some with tools - but coming with the tools and actually running them well are two different thing.

Thanks for the input!

I've got the Husky 26 gallon compressor and it works fine with most tools such as the impact, "Dremel" type tool and ratchet. It cycles often with the die-grinder, but is tolerable.

I found the air drill doesn't have much torque and got better results drilling with an 18.8 volt rechargable drill.

I got the compressor on sale with a bundle of tools for about $190.

For what it is, I think it's a good value.

As for this being in the wrong section, don't worry, it'll be moved.;)

Primary use would be lugs..

KenP - I saw that one - Sears I think.

I just looked in Graingers (don't know why I don't think of them more often)

clearanced at $158, specs seem decent.

I just bought a DeWalt electric impact wrench - DW292.

I plugged it in, tried it on the first lug, put it back in the box and returned it.

$205 more towards a compressor.
