I was looking for a way to carry more luggage or whatever since the SUT bed isnt that large. I stumbled upon the Gobi SUT bed rack which can mount directly on the tonneau cover. Anyone have any experience with these? Just looking for some feed back good & bad. Looks like you can still open and close the cover too!

Just make sure to specify fo ruse with or without factor bed cover. There are two different mounting kits.
The rack is epoxy undercoated and than powdercoated...so very durable.
They are not a stocked item. ...takes about 3 weeks to get.
You get new gas struts with the rack too...so your rack mounts to the factory bed cover and will stay int eh up position. Perfect for coolers, water cans, gas cans...bike racks.
I has the stealth rack and the bed rack on my SUT. The on on GOBI's site was my old SUT. ...before it got rearended shortly after the new owner took delivery.

I think they look awsome.
If you have the tonneau cover, you can actually use the rack to step on if you needed to get to the roof for anything. It won't cave in the cover.
Tim really had a bitchin setup on his old SUT.

I havnt pulled the trigger on the bed rack yet. Its pretty pricey! I was looking at all angles of this thing, havnt seen one in person yet. With mesh screen on the bottom, how do you get to the latch to open the cover. The latch looks like its under the rack. Do you have reach under the rack or over the top to get to it? Is it a pain to get to?

There is no mesh over the latch area; you reach over the rack, and down through the opening to access the latch.

OK.. gotcha! How about rear window visibility with the rack empty?

Get it. you will love it. Otherwise the SUT bed area is nearly useless. I loved that truck and Still think the Desert Sand SUT is the best H2 combo as far as looks, but the function of the SUT was dissapointing. Heres some pics of mine before I traded my SUT for my H1...

Yes, just like anything else, if you use it, it will chip and rust, but all you have to do it spray paint it w/ matte black. Its as good of a rack as I've ever seen, you wont be dissapointed.
