Looking for someone to make me the wire with diode or resister, whatever it is for day time running lights to be on with headlights. If you can take paypal I would send payment that way otherwise have to use honor system. From what I read it's a couple bucks. I just don't understand it. I can jump the 2 fuses but I dont want the parking lights on all day. I honestly wouldnt beat anyone out of a couple bucks. Let me know

77 people looked at this and not one is able to help me. Is it that you feel I should be able to do this myself? I guess I will give it a shot.

I guess no one wants to help an idiot. ;) :)

If you search on the forum you will find a detailed description, complete with pictures of how to do this modification. Go to Radio shack and get the diode and a piece of wire. I'm sure you'll do just fine. :fingerscrossed:

good luck

U don't need anything special...

grab a good piece of wire, strip both ends. Check out the pics for the previous post on DRL's ...insert wire in one fuse, and the other in the other fuse....done.

I just went through the old thread. I couldn;t find the one thread with pics of how it was done, but did find one thread with this pic.

Hope that helps somewhat. I'll be doing this mod again...once an SUT land in my garage again. I'll make a couple up and can send you one of you don;t get it handled by than...maybe a couple months yet.

for now, you an always just do the mod with the wire. I never did the diode setup, but did end up going through markerlight bulbs a couple times. I'm going to sue the diode this time so teh mraker lights stay off durring the day.

thank you. I understand the wire part. Thats easy enough. I get lost when you add in the diode. I have read the old thread a few times and it seems that everyone has different configurations. I guess I will figure it out. Thanks again.

I made 4 extra and mailed them to members for free. If I had any more, I'd make some up and mail them.

Look it up, that thread will give you part numbers. It's easy as pie.

As far as installing it, just read the instructions cause if we mailed one to you, you'd have to install it yourself anyways.

All you need is about a 4 inch wire both ends stripped.

Yes you do need the Diode. It allows the voltage from the headlight relay to pass thru it and power the running lights, but not allow power to go the other way. Without the diode, the voltage can pass the other way and turn on your headlights during the day when only the running lights are supposed to be on.

ryanh2 - Go to Radio Shack and get a #1N4007 Diode or anything close for about $.50 and a few small pieces of 16 gauge wire.
