I noticed the other day...a Hummer dealer selling a 09 H2...and the factory head unit looks a little different from previous 08 & 09 models...
anybody have this particular head unit?
if so, what's the SD card slots for?
the navigation screen looks more advanced than prior 08 09 models.
what's the red dot on the bottom left corner of the unit? a remote control sensor?
just interested to see a different unit.
Hi the first picture i think is a aftermarket nav unit. The second pic. is a 2008/09 gm nav unit. Gm only had the one nav unit for 2008/09 with different opions some play dvd's on the head unit screen and some don't they only play on the rear screen. The one's that play on the front screen have a little DVD wrote on the left side lower corner. This pic is a aftermarket unit. Hope this helps

What aftermarket unit is that?
I upgraded my in dash '05 factory Nav for a Kenwood 7100 and I absolutely hate it. partly because the raging idiots who installed it had NO clue what they were doing (never do business w/ 'friends' more often than not you regret it) and partly because whom-ever at Kenwood was responsible for UI design, obviously had no previous experience (why would you have to hit 4 buttons everytime you wanted to change an XM station or from XM to MP3/FM/etc).
Anyway, I HATE the kenwood and would never buy a new one, was thinking about an Alpine, but this one looks slick.
Anyone have it? thoughts/comments?

Nice spot - very similar.
Curious what the a/m system is as well - integrates nicely.
Hi Brian, here is a better picture and a link, i don't have this unit but i did think about replacing the stock one because the hummer nav doesn't work that well. I have a gramin that is better than the factory nav that i use. If anyone buys this $1050 let us know how well it works and how easy it is to hook it up.

Would this work in an '05? Sounds like an OEM GM model, not an aftermarket?
hi the ad says 08/08 and it is a aftermarket unit.

I find it hard to believe an 'aftermarket' doesn't work on any GM vehicle....but you are correct, he confirmed it will NOT work in my '05. Whatever, probably a POS anyway ;)
