In less than 2 weeks, I'm suppose to ship the H2 from NC to CA to have the Duramax diesel conversion done.

Does anyone have any shipping advise? I need to find a shipping company. I'm hoping I can get the truck shipped for a grand each way, is that reasonable?

Thanks,

Mark

1K is doable each way but will more than likely be an open ship vs covered/ enclosed. I have had two dealers price out shipping/ both were open transport. Dalls to Denver was $900/ the other from Charlotte area and was $1200 to Denver.

As who to use, I haven;t shipped before, so not sure who to use. I'm assuming that is a three to four day ship one way, so my only advice would be to find enclosed shipping. Keeps your rig out of the weather and away from site of those looking to break into a rig at rest stops or hotels.

I would contact the guys doing your conversion and see who they suggest. If they do enough of them, I'm sure they ship trucks from time to time.

I'm looking forward to this upgrade. :jump:

Holy Crap mark..... I've got your Xmas present bro, gimmie the pick up city and zip, destination city and zip and year of your truck.... I'll get you a quote you will like, I ship cars all the time with this company:) Think about this tho... You can't fit your rig in 90% of the enclosed trailers unless you go with specific companies that will charge you $3K+ to ship it each way.... Not worth it dude, you're not shipping a Ferrari.... Its an H2 Hummer that's built for rough mother nature... why spend the extra $?
PM me for my cell# if you have any further questions.

PM sent....

I've been getting quotes and they range anywhere from 1000 to 1900 bucks. Sending the H2 with a liftkit in an enclosed trailer is easily doubling the price so I'll just have to do the open trailer.

That may not be a bad idea.... at least I'd know it works right...lol.

If you want the info still, let me know and I'll dig it out. I just had mine shipped from Orlando FL. to Portland OR. for 1150.00.

It was of course open.....

Thanks everyone, I've been inundated with quotes. I'm basically going by reputation and feedback first and price second.

I'll be shipping the truck out hopefully on the 4th.

Thanks for everyone's help.

I think it will fit in most trailers. I have a stacker car trailer that i tow behind my RV, and my H2 fits (Just barely) but it fits....

Its really an issue of the wheel wells on the inside of the trailer, my tires rub each side, so its an EXACT fit...if the H2 was an inch wider, it wouldnt fit. This shouldn't be an issue in semi-trailers since the wheels are under and the box is totally square.

John,

Thanks but don't forget I'm lifted. The truck is 90" wide at it's widest point (outside to outside of tires)

The truck is 87" tall....
