Any of you have this issue? when i accelerate the vibration from the engine creates some pretty loud rattles. Almost all the rattles are in the back of the suv.

any suggestions? i just got truck last night, and it is seriously bothering me. other than this the truck is perfect.

Sounds like something in the drivetrain is loose. Take it to the nearest Hummer dealer since it is still under warranty

Could be something loose on exhaust too. A broken hanger or bracket?

just curious, but did you test drive for atleast 15-20 miles before the purchase? Good luck on the repair.

I have an 08.
No rattles or noise whatsoever.
Any Hummer dealer in Austin can service or diagnose the noise.
But remember, the tech has to pinpoint the rattle...and replicate it. Then see, what they can do to eliminate it.

It's really a trial and error type of thing.

Good luck and enjoy the truck!

thanks for the replies. i already called the dealer in town and will take it to him next week. wont be hard to replicate the rattle, happense everytime i accelerate.

I am glad to hear that nobody else has any rattles, that was my primary concern. if you guys dont have rattles, i will be able to fix this thing.

thanks

Is it inside the truck or outside?

If the truck was wheeled at all, there is a good chance that teh skid plate under the truck isnow touching. They ben up easily and when you accelerate it may be just enough to make contact.

look under the truck at the rear skid/ small skid that you can bend down by hanging on it. takes two seconds. ...worth a shot.

So, is this the best way to tell if an H2 has been wheeled or are there other signs when looking underneath?

Is the bolt that holds the jack in place loose?

It sounds like a heat shield on the Catalytic Converter could be loose.

scraped skids/ rock rails/ chunks missing in tires/ mud on top of skid plates/ mud caked up inside rear bumper/ torn boots on half shafts/ ...just to name a few.
