Hello everyone. I'm glad to find a H2 board that has some action, so obviously I'm new here.

Has anyone heard about MD's "Hummer Bummer" tax? I don't know all the details but apparently vehicles over a certain GVW, will have to pay a "tax" or fee of $ 750 annually/ Like I said, I don;t have all the details but apparenlty, the limit would single the Hummers (H1 & H2), as well as the Excursion & Suburban.

If anyone has the all the correct details, please post. Also, if there anything that can be done to fight this?

Thanks in advance for checking this post out.

The basic details is this:

If you own a Class M Vehicle (Multipurpose), and it's over 6000 lbs GVW, the intent is to force you to pay an extra $750 a year.

To follow the bill, click here: http://mlis.state.md.us/2005rs/billfile/hb0424.htm

What is fascinating is the list of vehicles that would get hit. Some of them include:

Isuzu Ascender
Ford F150 Styleside
VW Touarag
BMW X5

A list of vehicles that would be hit can be found here:

Looks like it will also affect a lot of the large Trucks? That sucks for the farmers who rely on those vehicles....
