Now that I had the Gobi racks on the SUT, I needed a way to get my mountain bike transported to the trail. I bought the Yakima BOA's, thinking they would clamp right onto the Gobi tubing. Unfortunately, even with the thin "spacer" Yakima includes for their Load Warrior line, the BOAT heads weren't even close to tight.
A quick trip to Ace fixed that with some 1" OD, 3/4" ID heater hose. It was almost too much as I could barely close the two halves of the heads together enough to get the allen bolts started - but it worked.

Out back I used the hose again to get the tire clamps down. They come with a wingnut, but there was no room to get that on. I used some nuts I had laying around to accomplish the same thing. As you can see, I almost had to cut the bolts down!

In the end, it was a quick install and I can now get my bike out to the trails.
