I backed up on a nice size rock (not too hard) the last time on the trail and thought, 'might be a good idea to get a more durable diff cover,' just in case the next time is a little 'harder.' My research turned up Purple Cranium's Spider differential rock guards (http://purplecranium.com/)

So I put my order in and they fabbed me one up. I got the sucker installed this afternoon without loosing a drop of diff fluid. The install literally took 10 mins...and that includes laying out the cardboard so I didn't get wet.

I purchased a Purple Cranium about 3 years ago but it wouldn't fit because I had switched my Dif cover to a PML so if you ever plan to switch out to a larger Dif cover skip the PC

I've always wanted a PC spyder diff guard but then again I do plan on definitely going with a PML cover....looks awesome though!

Is it the bottom drain that gets in the way?

It was a real long time ago but from what I remember the PML grooves were set back more so the holes couldn't match up. Someone mentioned a while back that if you sent PC the PML they could fab up a Spider to fit it. I just never did it.
