hey guys, quick one for you. I've got a cracked headlight and am looking to change it. Was looking online for parts, and then saw and read some good things about these:
Trucklite 27270C. Anyone had any good/bad experiences with them ? My headlights as they are, aren't the best. I know these are popular with the jeep wrangler guys, but didn't know if anyone had any experience with them with hummers. Saw someone had put them on an H1 and said good things, assume they fit the H2 ?

Ok checked some other forums out and just ordered them. I'll let you know my experiences with them in case anyone else is interested.

Not a bad price, I have the military version in 24 volt configuration. I was tired of messing with HID's and other options. LED seems the way to go. Doesn't have the light output of HID's but the reliability is worth it IMO.

Thanks. You think they'll drop in or I'll need to cut away part of the rear mounts ?

Should just drop in, any 7" light should work. You'll see how the bezels screw together when you take them apart. It is really simple.

Should be getting them any day now (am in russia, it takes a while!).
From looking at other resources on here, I am still under the impression i might have to ground the rear of the light a bit, or sand the rear housing to get them to fit- at least thats what others seem to have done, but i'll know more shortly. My H2 is currently under about 2 foot of snow though, so not sure when i'll fit them!

How did you remove the upper grill ? I can get the 4 10mm bolts out at the corners of it, but can't find the other 2 i need to remove... Was probably extra cautious as i didnt want to undo the hood hinges etc, and didn't know what did what. Any advice ?
thx

Here's a quick comment i put up on another forum....
"a) i didn't need to sand anything down on the back of the light housing. The trucklite fit as a direct replacement with no problems at all.
b) i also bought the trucklite pulse adaptor (to remove the flickering) however the existing hummer connection didn't fit the same connector that was on so i had to cut and splice (a little bit ghetto!) but worked ok.
c) I bought the 27270C, and i can confirm that I do see some kind of X pattern at the end of the beams. To be honest, this doesnt bother me in the slightest, and it only really becomes apparent if you're say facing a brick wall. On the road (including dark empty highway), i don't notice it.
d) I think I will probably need to align them. I don't quite know how to do this yet, so if anyone has any ideas (horizontal and vertical) am all ears!"

Do you have any photos of the install or of the finished product we can see? Not sure about the H2 but normally there is a small adjuster that looks like a long allen bolt sticking up that will tilt the headlights.

The install is pretty straight forward for any 7" light into the H2.
-remove the grill
-remove the headlight housings
-take the housings apart-they are in two halves which sandwich the light housing into the outer housing making sure to line up the recesses of the light into the light housing
-reinstall in reverse order.
Wiring all depends on what type of light you install. I was given a pair of 24 volt military trucklights from a member on a different forum. I had to install 12-24 volt transformers so I had a little extra wiring. They've been running without issue since. You can go that route and save hundreds of dollars versus buying the H2 specific trucklights
