I want to remove the tire on the rear of my SUT. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can remount the License Plate? I thought about having something fabricatted that would fit in the towing reciever.
Any ideas?

Do it redneck style. Screw it into your rear panel! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Or just go down to your local autoparts store, and buy a license plate mount with a light in it.

if you are a fan of chrome, realwheels makes a relocater kit, that moves it to the passanger side tow hook

Where's Dan? Why hasn't he replied.

Search the forums because Dan demostrated his transformation. Let us know how it goes. I'm going to do mine soon when I finally get together with ipstack to get the black tow hooks.

By the way, did you notice that you will have to replace the tow hooks when you take off your carrier since the SUT hooks are actually part of the tire carrier.

Good luck
David

I had a custom bracket made with light for the plate. But I'm keeping my tire on the back. I'll post some pics, once I get it on the truck.

Realwheels now offer the spare tire eliminator kit in black. They don't have it on their website, but I just called about it last week. I know they have them in black if you ask for it. Plus you get a new sweet looking LED for a light.

I bought a plate holder and mounted it to the back bumper in the middle. I temporarily have a plate light attached above it, but got those lighted plate bolts that I have to put on when I get half a second. This pic was taken right after the carrier came off and I hadn't got to the plate light yet.

I had my dealer grab an old license plate relocater that came with the 2004 SMA swing away kit for an SUV. He also got me the 2004 stock SUV rear tow hooks at are removed when using the SMA kit.

I then flipped the relocator and now it covers the passenger side rear bumper light. Then just ran the stock license plate light wire through the SMA light.

Looks like it should have from the factory and will try to update with a pic later.
