Windshield Wipers got packed with snow after just 20 min of driving in a medium snow fall! The passenger side was worse. My guess is that the defrost vents (especially the passenger side) aren't under the wipers and in turn do not heat the Windshield where the wipers move FREEZING THEM UP.

Using winshield washer fluid with de-icer(50/50 ratio) works 100%.

Some guys are just using normal fluid which will slush up and freeze again. The washer hose is located on the wipers making this an advantage too.

Yeah I did that but it sucks that it freezes up so fast!

Are u using rain x on your windows?
This helps keep snow from collecting on the windows.
The wipers on most of the new vehicles I have had have the same problem w/ snow build-up.
I usually change to winter blades w/ the sealed linkage.
Some of the real heavy snows I've gotten good at rolling down the window and snapping the wiper on the drivers side while going down the road.

? Did you have the recyle air button pushed in to help eliminate mositure in the cab.. We have had a couple of cooler days 27 degrees and wet.. Yet I have no problem to date with keeping the windshield clear.. In past vec. in heavy wet snow cold ass days.. they have all been a pain to keep the front clean....Thats why I got the sun roof.. I can make the wife stand up thru the roof and clean off the windshield with the snow scraper.. And if you believe that I have a Indiana desert property to sell ..

Have the dealer check out the system..maybe it is blocked.. may H2 puts out a large volume of air.

I am getting the Hot Shot Pro. It is the fully automatic version. There is nothing to see inside because it is activated by the regular washer. The unit under the hood is hooked inline with the regular washer unit. I will get pics of that.

Dan,
These look like a good mate for the HOT Shot.I will be moving up to the Traverse City area near Lake Michigan next fall an that is a big lake effect snow area. I may never stop driving.

I found this to be a BIG problem... you have to pull over to fix it. The de-icer is a good idea and I use it. I find that before heading out, you have to scrape all the snow that gets packed underneath the blades, you have to get it down to the rubber on the winsheid, or your screwed. I bought winter blades... not really helpful... it is part of the flatter winsheild design.

what is hotshot???
