I have been trying to sell 2005 H2 for 3 months now, I have dropped my price from 49K to 46K and not getting any calls. I have advertised in the local paper and online at Autotrader. Carmax has offered 42K for the vehicle. This price seems very low to me. I'm not interested in posting on EBAY becuase of all the stories I have heard. Any suggestions on selling would be appreciated. Is the market to soft right now? Thanks in advance for your help.

Micro,
You may have better luck next month. The market is soft right now anyway and the fact that GM is running the Employee Pricing for Everyone program doesn't help you. What package do you have? Right now a new Lux is going for $49K with the program. Now this is before adding any extras of course. Good luck with it.

That will explain it, I have the adventure series with added chrome bars and roof. I also have the color match grill and third seat, but I realize I won't get the money from these factory upgrades. Well I might have to take what I can get. Thanks for your reply.

Sorry I didn't have any better news for you. Can you hold out a month or do you have to get rid of it now. Where are you located? If you are close enough, maybe someone I know would be interested and could give you more than the dealers.

Microday...Why are you selling your 2005 H2?
Do you not like it? Or are there other reasons?
I am currently searching for my first H2 and am curious when someone is selling there H2 as to why?
I just don't want to buy one and then want to get rid of it.
Thanks

I should make this clear, I used my H2 for a daily driver back to work. Which is probaly a sin for most members on this forum. I have no complaints about the H2 except the vertical windshield that cracked within a month of new. I have owened several vehicles before I got the Hummer (Denali, Escalade) and nothing can touch the performance or "fun" factor of driving the H2.
I purchased a Cadillac CTS-V in March and cannot affored to keep both. They are both for sale and which ever one sells first I will keep the other. But what concerned me was the lack of interest for either vehicle. I realize they are both 40K+ vehicles but I would think that would only help in selling the vehicle, the price excludes lookers. But I did research on the GM employee pricing and you can get a good deal for a 2005 vehicle. Both my vehicles are priced well for the condition they are in. I would have to consider new if I was in the market.
The vehicle is in Kansas City.

Last week before I purchased my H2, I looked at a used 2005 which like your's was in great condition. One of the owners of the local Chevy and Ford dealerships had just purchased a new one and put this on the lot. They had it priced at $46,500 (great price for that truck), but I opted for a new one knowing that for a few thousand more I could have one with a full warranty period and NO miles.
With this employee pricing in effect until the first part of July, any reasonably priced used vehicle will be hard to sell regardless of condition. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply Microday.
I would be interested in your H2, but the price is a little out of my budget. I need to find one for $39K or under. I love the Burgandy color you have. That is what I want. That or black, white is third on my list.
Good luck on the sell.

H2Blondie - I would do the same thing if I was looking to buy a H2.
Of the calls that I have recieved Red Metallic is not a preferred color. I'm sure I would have sold this if I had Black. In fact we would be keeping this and my wife would be driving the H2 if it was black. I told $1500 and it would be black but no dice.
Another note about this forum, I posted a similiar question on the cadillac forum about my V and not one person has responded.
I live in very close to the airport.

What have you heard about eBay?
I sold my dually in just a few days for exatcly what I wanted for it. The guy sent a Paypal deposit, flew in from Arizona with a cashier's check in hand, and drove it back home. Smooth as silk.
I then went right down to the Hummer dealer and drove off in the new SUV.
I'm a big proponanat of eBay. Yes, there are psychos, but there is a lot of upside, too.
Do you have photos posted anywhere? (or have I missed them?) I would like to get a new one to replace my '03... I am curious and possibly interested.

EDIT: Is this it? Autotrader link... (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=181709895&dealer_id=56254832&car_year=2005&make=AMGEN&distance=200&lang=en&max_price=&model=H2&end_year=2006&min_price=&certified=&address=64101&search_type=used&advanced=&start_year=2005&isp=y&cardist=9)
Yours appears to be prior to the outside spare mount...? (Guessing from the photos, if the above is it...)

I sold my Ford crew cab truck on eBay last year for more than I had anticipated. As with Sooner, the transaction went smoothly -- the purchaser sent a cashier's check, waited for it to clear, I met him at the airport, and he drove off in "Clifford the Big Red Truck".
If you do decide to go this route, take all necessary precautions with receipt of payments. Most people are honest, but there are those few that ruin it for the rest of us. Talk to your banker if you have any questions about authenticity of payment.

Lolo - That is the one.
Ebay - Buyers do not follow through with payment. I have bought a few vehicles over the phone and flown to pickup the vehicle, but I always carried the check with me. I wouldn't want to send a check ahead of time to make sure it clears and then pickup the vehicle. But it sound like people are willing to do this. I will look at the fees associated with Ebay.
Thanks

Micro,
If I do fly up next month I will check to see if you still have it. If so I may check it out on the way from the airport. I will heading for OP and Leawood so that would be the best time for me to check it out. Will let you know.
twinsdad,
Your looking for an 04 with 3,000 miles. Currently the best I have found around here is a 03 Lux, 16k miles for $41k. Good luck, hope you can find one.
I sold my Cherokee on eBay and it was awesome. The guy PayPal'ed me a non-refundable deposit. A few days later he pulled into my driveway, handed me cash and drove it away. Less than 10 minutes. His drive home was the test drive. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I would highly recommend eBay. Just read some other ads and get your terms down good.
"$xxx non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours"
"Must be picked up within 7 days"
"Cash or Money Order only"
etc....

Micro- Have you tried the standard "sign in the window"?

I know several people who have had got experiences selling cars on ebay. I sold a Boxster a while back and the guy sent me a cashiers check and asked that I release the vehicle so he could have someone pick it up for him. The check didn't look right so I call Wells Fargo which is where is was supposed to be from and it was a fake. Didn't bother me to much since I was being careful. Just cross all you "T"s and dot all your "I"s, watch for things that look wrong and you will do fine.
