I just received mine today. Band new. Well they were packaged quite poorly and not so solid around the pipe. Cracks at the ends and bent heavily in many places. Any of this stuff familiar for those who got theirs?

Btw, why did they include clear tape with package? to fix the cracks in the shields? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Mine were rolled tightly and neatly in a cardboard tube. They were in very good condition, which surprised me since I bought them from a dubious source: http://www.trailduty.com/ http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Got mine from trail duty also. Perfect shape and packaged very nicely.

BTW - the tape is to tape the magnets on at the edges.

I would bet my money on that laying them out flat is not going to help with these cracks... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I need to try work out a refund and next time shop around at Trailduty.

Same shop was supposed to send me the vehicle cover and I got soft carrier on the roof???

Ya, even if they weren't cracked that looks like heat damage of some sort, get a refund.

Looks like a terrible packaging job. I got mine from Trail Duty as well and came in rolled up and like a million bucks.

The clear tape is to tape the edges. At speed the magnets will come off if not taped. There are a few threads about tape options as that tape runs out fast.

Another tip i have not seen is to tape the cut out that would show the H2 logo on the driver and passenger door. This opening allows dirt and debris to get between the magnet and your paint causing lovely markings when you take them off.

If you have problems getting the sheild replaced from your supplier, you can contact the manufacturer and they will replace any shield for around $25.

Trail Duty here too and they were fine out of the box. I got some cracking after the first time I used them and put them back in the box and stood it on end. Fortunatly a little sun and trimming fixed them.

I would send them back. They will crack after you use them a few times, but they should be perfect if you paid full price.

Were they shipped from the US? If so, customs may have opened them to check the package and not repacked them well. Just a thought.

Get a refund on those suckers.

Also on the tape - it's good to tape up the front edges of your shields, a branch can easily snag an edge and rip the shield right off.

And the tape issue....yeah, don't just go buy any kind of clear tape. Some will leave a MAJOR residue.

A lot of people store them rolled up, but I made a large "envelope" out of cardboard and stored them flat. As long as you don't get any folds when you pack them away they should not crack.

I just rolled mine up and ran some tape around the roll. Is that an okay method? They take up very little room that way.

I'll post some more pictures of those as I get home. Even the tape was all screwed up. I'd say used product sold as new and packaged very poorly...

We just stick our shields on one of the garage doors we don't use.
