Check on ebay..... there is a guy who does an exchange program, he also warranties all work. I believe he sends you a remaned cluster (you fill out odometer/engine hour disclosure sheet) and then ship your malfunctioning one back. I believe he also holds a core charge till yours is shipped back.

You can buy the replacement motors on eBay for less than $15 bucks and install them yourself, provided you can solder. It's not too bad of a project, just follow the directions that come with the motors.
It's also important to remember that the instrument cluster will only totally reset when it's unplugged from the harness, not with each key cycle.
I used a GPS to set the speedometer at 60 mph when I reinstalled the needle instead of just relying on tape marks on the dial face. I ran the H2 with the cluster plugged in and active, held the speedo needle in hand and pushed it on lined up at 60 when the GPS indicated 60.

This is a problem with almost all hummers and escalades and probably other GM vehicles that have the same cluster. I believe this is now a recall from GM. Call you dealer, they should replace it for free. If not make a big stink about it. We have had to have at least 5 or 6 instrument clusters replaced on hummers and escalades, in fact we had an escalade replaced by the dealer for free last week, the car was out of warranty, we had to go through GM corporate, it was the 2nd time on this car that it was replaced. And yes it only happens in the cold. The car will be fine all summer, and once its cold then bam it wont work.

The hummer dealer i use called GOLD COAST HUMMER in oak hurst new jersey said that they have no recall to fix or replace the instrument cluster for hummers only on the escalade and told me to try and contact GM directly. IF anyone has contacted GM before please foward me the number so i can start the contacting someone for help.
thanks
