Do you guys remember when I spilled mocha in the SUT and ruined my phone a couple of weeks ago?
Well, that day I got a new Razr. Well, just about an hour ago. I did virtually the same thing but worse.
I keep my phone in this little place under the radio, right above the cup holders. I heard something splash in my ice water cup when I stopped. I reached in and it was my phone!! I pulled into a bank parking lot.
I started freaking out and took it apart like the man told me. Blowing into the electrical parts and quikly dried it off cussing with worry. It seemed to be okay but I was worried- obviously from before, and the screen started acting funny. I left it apart and got back on the road. What the hell was I going to tell Kenny. He was still pissed from the first episode.
I had just picked up little Mama and she wanted chicken nuggets. So I knew I would have to stop at Wendy's before I got home. It was late and she was hungry. Time was an issue and I wanted to make sure the phone was okay.
I thought "A hairdryer..that's it, I will use my hair dryer on it when I get home. I am a smart bitch...blah blah blah..." Then while driving I had the window half way down. It was in the 70's today..nice. I thought "Hey I could hold it out the window and really start fixing it." No later that the moment I held it out, it flew out of my hand and fell out into the busy rush hour traffic and clacked on the street.
"OHHHHHHH SHIIIIIIITTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!" I quickly turned around in a parking lot. Got back on the busy street...I had to look for it. After 15 minutes I did. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gifhttp://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gifhttp://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Sometimes phones are covered if you lose them. Like the battery falls out and they cannot locate them. Then you are covered.

At work someone brought me thier cell phone and said it didn't work and they wanted a new one. So I took the phone apart and the inside was wet. So I questioned the lady and she finally told me she dropped it in the toilet. @*!* !**@ If I would have know this before, I would have had her throw it away and just ordered a new one. So I dried out the phone and waited a week and gave her back her NEW toilet phone.
If your phone gets wet, remove the battery, take the cover off and let it completely dry (hours)it will be fine.
I would recommened this new cell phone case however:
Unbreakable, watertight, airtight, dustproof, chemical resistant and corrosion proof.
This case is NATO codified and tested to MIL C-4150J (Military Standard), IP-67 (Ingress Protection) and ATA (Air Transportation Association). Unconditionally Guaranteed ... forever.

I dropped my old phone in the dogs water bowl a year or so ago and got a replacement. Left the old one in my truck for several days during the summer to dry it out and now it works great. Extra smart phone = bonus http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
HAHAHAHA! I'm sorry http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif But you dropped it in coffee after you dropped the old one in coffee, then held it out the window and dropped it again.... Was it a bad hair day too? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You could do what a female friend of mine does:
Put the phone on vibrate and stick it between your legs against the seat. Well, they laughed at her when she went to the store again. I think they're all on a first name basis now. They GAVE her a phone to KEEP while she waits on the replacement. That's right, she doesn't need to return this one. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

CP, Before you destroyed the previous Razr, did you like the way it performed compared to other phones - ie reception? Are the items like text messaging, pictures, video, good? Reason I ask is I'm thinking of upgrading from the flip phone model just below the Razr. I've heard the Razr's are kinda fragile - although I don't know of any phone that could take the beating you put them through.

Also make sure to check that they are still going to cover you. When I had my MPX replaced they said that because of the cost of the phone they were not supposed to insure it in the first place and would not cover it again. Unless the amount is off, I usually don't even look at my bill but noticed months later that they were still charging me the $5/mo for the insurance http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

A friend of mine switched to a Black Razr recently and has not been too happy with it. May just be the fact that he had a Smart Phone before and misses the features but he has had some issues. I think he has already had to have it replaced due to problems though.

Felt I had to post these here from a site called Howard Forum, just trying to cheer ya up a little h2co-pilot.
Also, attached pics of my RAZR
Story number one.
Yes, that's right. I'm a dumbass. I was eating my cereal, decided to turn on my cell phone and it slipped out of my hands and dropped in my bowl of ceral. Since I only ate 1/4 of the bowl at the time, it landed mainly on the cereal and only about 1/3 of my phone got submerged in the milk for a second. Anyway, after cleaning it up, drying it out, etc., there doesn't seem to be any damage except for one thing. My speaker isn't as loud as it was. In other words, my ringtones and speaker phone is about half as loud as it used to be. Considering the circumstances, I'm happy with that being the only problem. After examining it, it basically sounds muffled and I'm wondering if it's because some of the milk dried over the tiny holes on the screen over the speaker. I won't know until I get to the other side of the screen. My question is that has anyone posted pictures or instructions on how exactly to remove the casing for the speaker area of the phone? Am I going about this the right way? Should I not do anything and just live with it? I just signed a 2 year contract with Cingular if that helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Story number two
When you stop laughing, perhaps you can take a minute to help me. My new Razr inadvertently slipped out of my hand and landed in a friends glass of egg nog. I cleaned the outside, but some of the keys are not functioning. I assume there is sticky egg nog inside. Does anyone have any ideas that might work to clean the inside? Anyone open one up...is it hard? I thought about dropping it ina glass of clean water to try to wash it out, but that might create more probs. The phone makes and receives calls and sounds fine. just some keys are inoperable.
Well, I guess this is the laugh of the day, but it's an expensive one on me if I can't get it working properly. All constructive ideas welcome, and I guess I'll get through the barbs I'm sure will come my way.

Just the one, I combined the four shots into one to save space.
Was just showing off the start up screen (it scrolls "starting up" in gothic e font), the wallpaper screen, shut down screen (scrolls "shutting down" in same font as above) and the small one on the outside.
Been playing with some different software and making changes to the phone, Provider won't like it much but such is life http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
