After six months, I finally had a need to relocate the rack bows. IMO, a lousy design. Opening the adjusters and moving the bows isn't a problen, its relocking them and reinstalling the locking covers that are the pain. Flimsy levers bend too much; hard to snap over the locking detent. I'd really be worried about the flimsy plastic levers breaking off if this had to be done regularly, especially if brittle from cold. The lock cover has to on just right too. Big hassle for a what should a simple operation. Hummer should rethink this one.

Did my back one twice, and didn't think it was that bad. Only problem I had was it would only lock down in certain areas.

Theres notches in channel there hard to see it must be lined up with the notches , I think theres one about every 6 inches or so.

I definitely agree...It is a cheap set up and difficult to lock and adjust. You've got to get the locking device in the little detents in the channel and when you lock them down, there's a lot of play there. The key locking mechanism is also very cheap and needs a lot of silicone spray to get it to move freely.

Perfect timing on the post.
I was trying to adjust them a little on Sunday and thought - what's with these things.

Glad to here it wasn't me, just a poor design, which is sad.
