Well, we haven't done anything on Sunday yet but we're going to go see Wanted, I think. Tonight I looked at Ed Hardy t-shirts and wanted one but I just can't justify spending over $100 on a t-shirt that I'll spill Starbucks coffee on or the dogs will jump on me and get pawprints on it. They're so expensive they have them behind the counter at the store when you can't get them. It stormed here tonight, we went out, watched some Brady Bunch episodes while straightening up, couldn't go in the pool due to said storm. I did multiple blogging, some freelance articles and stayed up till 7 am Friday night with a customer but made good bank doing it. Damn you Ed Hardy.

I'm going to relax today.

My daughter is on the swim team this year. I had no idea how exhausting it would be. Not really exhausting but time consuming- practice everyday and the swim meets on Saturdays.

And of course I am weak when it comes to turning down volunteer opportunities. Specially with the kids- so I have been doing all kinds of stuff (baking, ribbon assembly, lugging tent shelters etc.) But- I have a killer tan already and the baby gets outside everyday.:D

Sundays have become my "day off". So I may shower or not. I'm going to eat left over pizza and wash towels and fold them while I watch movies.

Termites bring teh sucketh! Glad we've never had a problem with them. Hope the damage isn't too bad.

I'm watching the boy while the wife sleeps. Oh hell, he's sleeping too, but when he wakes I'm taking him somewhere. maybe Home Depot to look at some stuff.

I was hoping my new Weber Smokey Mountain would arrive last week, but it didn't. I think the first cook will be brisket (damned brisket) and a butt. I can't wait for this thing!:clapping:

and what a sunday it is.....woke up started working from home...about 8AM....cable goes out...no tv...no net.

Faced with nothing to do, i decide to clean the gutters out. Then it was off to wendy's with the family for a quick bite for lunch.

Now instead of sitting at home working...i am working at the office...just shoot me!

Took the comcast rep 45 minutes to tell me I needed a tech to come out to the house. I told him that when he answered the phone. Tried to say it was my wireless access point...then it was my PC....suffice it to say I was a bit on the surly side at the end of the call.

So now...i am working and eating peanut m&ms.

probably hit a trail on the bike today if mother nature cooperates....she's been a little wet the past few days....lol

Vegas is always a blast! Have fun!

Looks like another 90 degree heat wave in Seattle so that means a day of sun & margaritas! Maybe some spicy steak fajitas off the grill....

The wife took her 3 out yesterday and the check engine light came on. Took it to the dealer and they think it may have a valve problem. I'm thinking it may find a new home back at the dealership! I told her she could always buy an H2, or even jump ship and go to Toyota for an FJ Cruiser...it wouldn't matter, I'd still love her! LOL!

Have a great weekend everybody.

Gotta love BBQ....low and slow baby! Just picked up some smoked hot pepper cheese from a local smoke house here. OMG...that stuff is amazing! I havent figured out how to smoke cheese yet.The easiest way for us backyard Q'ers is to use an offset cooker I think. It's hard for us to cold smoke.

Let the cheese, whatever cheap stuff is on sale, sit out in the kitchen for awhile to let the outside toughen up.

Light 2-3 pieces of coal and place on the soaked wood of your choice whether it's apple, hickory, whatever and let the smoke begin.

About an hour at 90* should be sufficient. The trick is keeping the temp down so make sure your thermometer works properly.

If you have a kettle grill, put the wood and coals on one side and use fire bricks or even just tin foil to make a wall up to the grate to protect the cheese from the direct heat. When I cook low and slow on the kettle I'll secure the trap door in the open postion and foil the door as well.

Close the bottom vent and open the top one just a touch to maintain the temp you want.

Here's a look at the kettle method when I did a brisket flat. The water bowl acted as a heat sink to help maintain temp.

Dang, ya'll are pros. :)

We grilled brats for lunch but that's about it for today. Still too hot outside...we're supposed to get rain tonight. I sure hope so - we're in major drought conditions right now and it sux.

Just spent $100 on baby clothes. Ugh. The 2 mo old has just outgrown the 6 mo clothing from his older brother. So now it's on to 9-12 mo stuff - in which the older brother was wearing in the winter. So now I have to get all NEW summer baby stuff. Which he'll probably outgrow by August. The size of this child is unreal. He's cute tho. Just freakin huge.

I finally thwarted the dog on the tomato front, but the bitch (literally) was walking around with one of my cantaloupes yesterday. Arrgh. I let her keep it...maybe if she has one, she won't bother the others. Of course she picked the only one that was close to being ripe. :(

Speaking of dogs....she managed to tree a cat the other day. I tied the dogs up thinking the cat would be smart enough to realize, hey, no dogs, let me out of here! Nope, cat stayed in the tree all day. Hubby got home and tried to get it out with a tennis ball in the slingshot - he got that cat almost every single shot (including a really good one square up the butt) but the cat wouldn't budge. Finally got out the painting pole and a ladder and it took off through the fence. Stupid cat. What is it with animals lodging themselves in our trees???

I think you have to cold smoke the cheese or else it would just end up in a puddle. With the Brinkman I use either with real wood or propane, it just gets too hot I feel for doing cheese. Just not enough heat control. I've been looking at the ones in Cabela's that use the hockey pucks and are all automated with temp and smoke.

Here are a few pics from the yard....did a pork butt and corn and taters in the fire.

Brisket? That looks like a tiny New York strip maybe!

No wonder CP's so skinny, you don't feed her!

:jump:I know. It was a tiny 3lb flat.

Mike, cold smoking is the only way to go for that. Nice cooker you've got there. I just snagged a new Weber Smokey Mountain on EBay for only $134 with shipping! I stole that sucker! I'm going to get a stacker for it to add 33% more cooking capacity.:clapping:

Stacy, little one hit the 12 mo clothes at the end of his 3rd month. The little bugger has grown like a weed since his birth. He better learn to walk soon because I can't keep carrying the little monster.

Did a lot of prep. work yesterday for a week at Canyon Lake. The virgin cruise on the boat is complete. Spent the day getting more wakeboards, and tubes for the little ones. I going to be crazy on the lake this 4th...although it's not as bad other lakes I've seen.
