I was paying 60 cents a gallon back in 1977.

The first time I saw $1.00/gallon was in Big Sur in 1977-78 on Hwy 1.

.33 per gal in '69 when I was pumping it and starting to pay attention...
Folks would come in and get a dollars worth for a Saturday nite.
Some jokers would get a gallon and try to drain the hose!:o

I remember paying $ .19 9/10 in 1969
I started driving in1951 but i took the gas outa my dads station wagon

Holy $hit, you (aka disciple) were driving 26 years before I was.
I do remember my dad bitching about the price of gas going from 22 to 29 cents a gallon in the early 1960s.

No $hit! My last road trip from Alaska to WA was in 2004 and gas was $1.59 a gallon.

MY Dad says in Chicago when He rode through on his Henderson motorcycle Gas was 10 cents a gallon or eleven gallons for a dollar >Spring summer 1936

From what I can tell online it looks like it was $1.20 when I started driving but I do remember the gas thing in the 70's with the long lines and all, I just wasn't driving.

Softmore HS 1971/72 was .30 give or take. Can remember parents paying in a corner gas war .10 to .13 a gallon.

My dad, Fall River, MA, 1940 - gas wars were 12 and 13 gallons for $1.
