Looks like RYD may get missed by this one, but it's going to screw up Saturday night's race at RIR and make a mess of things along the East Coast.

Re: the loaner...1st time in 2 1/2 years they have a H-3. In the past they offered Caddy CTS, DTS, Tahoe, Suburban. The dam Suburban gets about 8 GALLONS to the mile. Tahoe was nice and the Caddys are to low to the ground.

Not knowing how long their are going to keep my H-3 I wanted a tall and capable SUV because of all the storms brewing. I normally joke with the "SWEET YOUNG THINGS" who supply the loaners and always ask for either a Vette or a Rolls Royce which brings a big smile, so this time I thought I'd ask another crazy question..."how bout a HUMMER" ? OK !!!!! I almost fell over...

Watching the RNC right now (around 9:20 PM) but just before checked the storms...looks like Hanna will bypass South Florida, right now she has dropped back to a Tropical Storm and the odds are she will land in South or North Carolina this weekend.

Ike is another problem and since he's more then 5 days out but aimed right now for South Florida and possibly a CAT 3 as he gets closer I'm going to stock up on some more HORNSBY's tomorrow (LOL)...already have 3 propane tanks, 12.5 gal of gas for the generator, shutters are ready, have water & SPAM, got cat food but need dog food and got a REAL BIG WATERMELON yesterday...this weekend I put the junk in the garage and start drinking !!!!!!!!!!!!

Ike looks downright scary now. I don't wish that thing on anyone, but that's for another thread.;)

I'm going to cut the grass in a little bit since I don't know how long it will be raining and can cut it again.

We had some high winds a few weeks ago that picked up the trampoline and moved it across the yard so it's coming down. Plus it's not getting used much and I've wanted to take it down for several months.

Then we'll watch the forecast and see what else needs to be moved/removed from the deck and yard. I really don't want to move all the grills and the furniture inside.

We're now under a State of Emergency. Whoppi...

Guess we'll pick up some water, but I don't think it'll be much.

I hope it bypasses you all. The small experiences are nice, the big ones suck. I'll keep watching it and see how things are going.

They're not even evacuating the trailer parks on the OBX. I'm just putting the trampoline away just incase. That thing's gone flying before in a nor' easter. I looked up and it was sailing across the yard!

I'll strap down the deck furniture, not take it in, and put the grills and smoker in a sheltered corner of the deck against the house. No biggie.

I'm only picking up water because of the little one.

No worries.

Did you lose power? We haven't lost anything yet. Hell, nor' easters can be worse than this.

There'll be some yard pickup, but not bad at all.
