Reloading can be cheaper than buyer factory new BUT you have to factor in the initial investment in the press, dies, scale and powder measuring equipment. I would say that unless you are an avid shooter the return on the investment is going to be too long realize a savings.....IMHO

i havent bought yet, but i been looking at the dillon xl650. I have recruited all my friends to pick up their brass and give it to me as well. i do shoot quite a bit and my family has 50 acres i plink on. my dad has some die's for reloading so that will save me some money up front anyways i might make that press my christmas present.
I used to reload my 9mm and 270 shells all the time. I use my Dad's stuff from before I was born ( I only know it was green). I would imagine you could find some good used equipment at a gun show for cheap. :)
