my friends dad ordered one of these Tesla Roadsters when it was first annoucned and has been waiting for it through all their delays. Nontheless they finally took delivery on it today, its one of the first signiture 100 models, number 47 to be exact. A metallic dark red color. From all the pictures i was not expecting it to look as good as it did in person. It looks great, and feels great when driving. i did not get to drive it but as a passenger it was a pretty nice ride. interesting not having any sound when you drive. It is extremly low to the ground and extremly difficult to get into. It also lacks some creature comforts such as reclinable seats, electronic mirror adjusters, and power steering. Its only a 2700 lb car so i guess its not that bad without it. Anyway it was a cool car, neat to be able to take a ride in one. i have pictures but their on my friends camera he should be sending me them tonight and ill post up the pictures.

Personally if i were in the market for a 100k car it wouldnt be that. It looks alot like a toyota spyder and there are much wilder looking cars for that price.
Adui R8 or for a bit more you can get a maseratti grand turismo S. My dad just picked up a Jag XkR for almost 100k. All in all the tesla is a neat car but i would have went audi way before i would have grabed that.

You are comparing apples to cucumbers with your analysis. The tesla is marketed towards a different crowd than the jag, audi, maserati, lambo...etc. With the tesla you get supercar performance with the efficiency of a prius (only better). Its a niche vehicle but one thats pretty damn cool.

ya if i were dropping 100k on a car i would have bought a porsche, but as Newhummerguy said its marketed towards different people. environmentalists who want a quicker car, a sportier car. Its not marketed toward the same people.
