RYD,
Bear in mind that many local shops will deliver install and provide technical expertise. Not to mention if product arrives damaged immediate action instead of shipping issues...

Costco is a good place to buy televisions. They have a 90 day return policy and a two year warranty on all tvs. Also included is free technical support for the life of the product.

Generally you get what you pay for, and I would recommend looking at the Toshiba or Sony on the costco website. If you have one close by, go and look at the tvs. Price should not be the only determining factor for your purchase.

Sceptre products get returned a lot and we don't carry them in the warehouse. If you are looking for a good value, look at the Vizio tvs or wait for the next round of coupons in March.

your right...am looking locally but want to do something soon...my 1987 50" NEC rear projection is getting ready to give up its life any minute...its lasted a long time but my repairman says no more free house calls and parts are a bitch to find...!

The nice thing about Costco is if i don't like it i can carry it back to my local warehouse, 90 day return, 2 year warrenty PLUS AN EXTRA YEAR on my American Express...

I read Costco reviews, most are positive, a few negative, also read other on line reviews and there are more towards the positive...am going to Costco tomorrow and look at TV's, as well as Best Buy and a couple of others...

I have to highly recommend HHGregg for all TV purchases. I know around here, these guys will chase you to your car to get you to buy crap from them. You will get a real deal on anything. They will low ball big time if you tell them other places had you down to whatever you want to pay. I had my eye on a 73 inch DLP Mitsubishi about a year ago. They threw in a decent cabinet stand, and dropped the price about $400 bucks beating every place I checked. Definitely check these guys out if you have one near you, just play hard to get!
