I have a 2002 with the heated windshield and have taken a couple of good shots in both sides and it's time to replace it. anyone have a ball park on what that thing is going to potentially run me.

I believe the list price on the windshield is approx $330. Should be about 1.5 hours labor in addition.

If you find heated windshields for $330 buy them all! Unless you find someone who has one for sale, you have to get it though a dealer or someone who can order through AMG. Lynch Hummer typically has the best price on them.

DO order the gasket at the same time. You will be sorry if you do not replace it along with the windshield.

If you have insurance, go that route. It will be around $1000 plus installation.

I had one put in a few years ago. I've had my H1 for for 5 years and looking back, I don't think I would have forked over that much money now that I know how little they actually work. The darn thing still leaks too although I've had the seal repositioned twice since the install. From the research I did, you want someone who really knows how to install windshields and will take their time and do it right.

You can pick up the regular glass for so much less. The $1000+ you spend going with the heated windshield that it almost isn't worth it depending on where you live, how much you would need to use it and how much you wheel/risk of breaking it again. I do a lot of highway driving and seem to be a target for flying sand/rocks so I get lots of chips.
