Im looking to get the A1000 or the A2000 for my 05 Hummer H2. Now here is my question. I have a avic 90BT touch screen headunit installed that has navigation and dvd capilities. Is there a way to have the 2 headrest units play what is playing on the headunit?? Thanks guys in advance

GOOD LUCK!

I tried and gave up. I was going to add a monitor on the third row seat. Bought the monitor and made a wire harness that went from RCA to the 8 pin mini-din,. Bought an 8 pin mini-din splitter and tried it out before I cut the headrest opened. I was happy to see at first it worked but than realized that the monitor I jumped off of would not support the video when the third monitor was on. It cannot support more than two video screens on at a time RATS.... There are some aftermarket co's out there that do sell video amplifiers so that you could run up to 6 monitors but I gave up and did not try to do this mod. Let us know if you do it and please post some pics. I have the 7" monitor still sitting in the box waiting for me to try again!!!

For anyone that still wants to try, I have the pinout diagram for the Vizuologic Advantage system

On the Mini_din, there are 8 posts and the outside ring(shield) is a ground. For reference, if you look at the mini-pin staight on, there will be 3 pins on the top row, 3 on the middle row and 2 on the bottom row. Pin 1 is the bottom left pin, #2 is the bottom right. #3 is the middle left, #4 is the middle pin in this center row and pin #5 is the right pin on this row. Pin 6 is the upper left pin, Pin 7 is the center pin on the top row and pin 8 is the right pin in the upper row. I have confirmed these connections but strongly suggest you do the same just in case there have been any spec changes I am not aware of)

Pin Description Wire Color
1 +12V Black (shiny)
2 Audio R + Blue
3 Audio L + Green
4 Video Red
5 Video Ground Black
6 IR Brown (shiny)
7 Parking yellow (Shiny
8 AV Select Purple (Shiny)

On the other end of the harness (the monitor side, the white wire is the Audio left ground and the yellow wire is the audio right ground. These both are connected to tyhe mini-pin ground shield.)

YES

It can be done I have 4 visualogic 9 inch headrest monitors in mine with amplifiers and they work great. They also have dual input and can work with wireless headsets (works great for kids). I will see and snap a pic for you. Never the less you will need amps for the monitors. Mine came with them.

Amazing Hummer H2R. Im still waiting for my bulletprof stuff to come thru. Hey so even tought eh A-2000 has its own DVD player. I should have no problem connecting them all to the headunit with a video amplifier. It is not the same thing as te fm mod is it?

Each of the monitors comes with a dual input Amplifier when they were bought from Visualogic, I am not sure how they are supplied these days as I purchased mine 2 years ago. I mounted one dvd player under the rear seat and the other input is from the head unit. I put the kids on one program with wireless head phones, and enjoy what I want from the head unit. This has worked well for my situation, including the interfaces for the bose speakers and the steering wheel controls. overall I am pleased with the outcome.:beerchug:
