2006 H2 OEM Rearview cam install

Does anyone have some detailed pics? I've read the instructions and also searched the forum for instructions. I do not have the hole in the bumper and know I will need to drill that out, one post mentioned that the hole may be stamped on the back side? I don't believe mine is. Looking for basic pics better than the black and white grainy pics that came with the camera. Its the one with the screen in the mirror. If someone could post or PM me a link I would appreciate it.

OK, camera installed, wires all ran. A lot smoother than I thought it was going to go. Struggling with the plug that goes into the mirror. Anyone have a hint as to how to undo the clip so it can be re-pinned?

How'd the drilling into your bumper work out? Did you put right above the hitch in the metal, or a little higher into the plastic then through the metal? Fixing to drill here too, want to get it in the best spot for max vision on a 110 degree CCD camera. Thanks.

I went through the metal right above the receiver. It wasn't too bad. The only issue was with the holes and the angle of them. Had to widen the holes a little more until it fit correctly (on the OEM cam they are at a slight angle). Felt pretty dumb when I took it to the local garage to unlock it and repin, I did have it unlocked 2 x's before I went in but didn't realize that was all the further it was to be out.

Ah. I have the bullet type camera, one hole about an 1 1/8"...same place in the bumper though. Will make it a long weekend project...gives me plenty of time to screw it up and still figure out how to fix it! :crying: Thanks for the reply.

No problem. The worrying and thinking about doing it part was by far the worst part of all of it. Silicone it up, I did on the back side and also painted/coated the holes that I drilled to protect it.
