The above image is from other fellow poster, and it shows the supposed location of the drain plug...

So I crawled under... lo and behold, mine is different.
On my H2, where it's supposed to be, it is just a flat cast surface.

Mine is 08 with 6.2L Vortec...

Can anyone tell me where the drain is so I can change my own oil....

Is it hidden way behind the skid plate?

Thanks.

can you post a pic of your vehicle, similar to this one?

in the pic, that is the correct drain plug for oil.

normally, you will see 2 drain plugs underneath the vehicle.
1 for the engine oil
1 for transmission. all hummers are automatic.

you can check on the left or right side of the oil pan. the plug may be there.

Yeah i had the same issue when i tried to do it myself on an 08, i was like WTF. So i buy my own synthetic oil, filter and pay 18 bucks for labor at my dealer for them to do it. I usually go 6000 between changes and by then its time to get tires rotated so i take it to dealer.

It's located facing towards the right.

I think I found it, if it is what I think it is.

Where as in the above pic, the drain is facing the rear, my drain (I believe) is facing to the right.

My logic is that it has to be the big bolt located around the lowest point of the oil pan, although it almost looks like one of the ordinary bolts which fasten the engine...

It is within easy reach without removing the skid plate.
