I'm trying to figure out the best way to tint my tail lights? What would y'all prefer?
Thanks

I went with these.Very bright. And a good up-date on the originals.....

Those are nice. Would those be able to fit an '08? I can't decide whether I want to just tint them or replace them.

03-09 so yes. I went for these as the light output from the l.e.d,s is far superior to the stock ones.

Make sure it's legal where you live.

Yes it's legal. There are several trucks and cars around here that have tinted lights. I'm just wondering which method is best. Vinyl or spray? Or another option if there is one.

Not to harp, but just because others have it done doesn't make it legal. I'd check your laws. Some states don't list tint as illegal, but DO say that your lights have to be visible from a certain distance.
And the best, but not cheapest method, would be to have a shop properly spray them. This way, you can choose the amount of tint you'd like. I've seen some go too dark, and then it's a safety issue.

I understand..isn't there also a tint cover? Like to put over the lights? I plan on putting a recon light bar on my tailgate once I get my spare off and I just thought about tinting my regular tail lights. The light bar will light up the world once I'm braking/turning/and in reverse. So..

When I mentioned safety, I meant for people seeing your brake lights. The reverse light is a good idea, though. And I'm not sure if anyone makes simple covers. Haven't seen them. Some places will do a light tint, which would look good but not hurt the brightness too much.

You can buy the tinted vinyl already pre-cut for the H2 tails on eBay...that's the easy way to do it if you (or Johnny law helps) decide to remove the tint at some point.
I had mine tinted by a body shop that does work for some of the auto 'customizers' here in town. I just asked the shop who did their paint work and they told me so I went to them direct and got it done for about 1/3 the price the shop wanted (tails, side corner markers, rear bumper inserts and DRLs set me back like $100).
Your call on which way you want to go.

I think I'm with you on the vinyl because I can always take it off if it doesn't work.
Hi the vinyl tint is best to try because if you have problems with tickets you can take it off, the spray on tint doesn't come easy and likey will screw up your lights if it has to be removed.

That's what I was thinking..If I go with the tint I'll get the pre-cut vinyl.

The tails have the precut tint film from ebay. Recon cab lights up top, and some smoked led Front and side markers from IPCW. I don't know what other "crap" your talking about but thats what I could think of!!:beerchug:

Here's my truck. I figured since you have white it could help you with your ideas. The pictures were taken more for the Porsche, but you can see enough, I think. The roof racks are off the truck, now, for a cleaner look, and the FOX logo is a sticker so I can remove it when I get tired of it.
If you want pictures of something specific, let me know.
P.S. I'm not sure why the pictures come up as attachments and why they have to be so small. Can't remember how I've done it in th past, but I've put them in the post like the ones above. Any help?

Nice rides!! IMO lose the sticker..haha. Have you tinted your tail lights? If so could you get a shot of the rear?

No, I haven't tinted the tails. Don't like the look, and I'm in no hurry to get sued if someone rear-ends me and claims they couldn't see my brake lights.
Some people love the sticker, some don't. All I know is that it's a hell of a lot cheaper than a paint job.

I got spray tint and some clear. Tape it up and spray it, pretty easy and cheap!

I used some spray tint I got at autozone. Didn't use the clear but I am thinking I might try it to give it a smooth shine instead of the current matte finish I have now.
