I currently have the stock 5th wheel spare on the back of my hummer. But since I did the lift and changed wheels I now have a 20" wheel with a 38" tire. Where do I put the license plate? Will it mount up in front of the wheel like it does now or do I need to move it? Iv seen some that have the plate mounted to the right of the tire on the bumper. Is this a kit or something? How should I mount this?

I've seen it done a thousand different ways..I have mine on the bumper. Just bought the RealWheels license plate kit that bolts on a hook. But you can put the license plate inside the new wheel on the back.

How does it bolt to the wheel of I decide to keep it where it is? And did you have to drill holes in your bumper or run lines for lights on the mount on your bumper?

One of these may work..

And no I didn't have to drill anything on mine.

I have one of those on my spare cover now. Is that all I need?

I'm not 100% sure but I think that's it..like I said you can do it a hundred different ways. I've seen guys just drill into the bumper and hang it, weld it to a hook, etc. I just took the easy way and ordered the RealWheels kit.

I screwed mine straight into the bumper on the right side, just below the swing out tire carrier, then had my shop mount a light on the carrier that shines onto the plate. Works great!

I made a hitch bracket and a flat steel plate and put it in the trailer hitch. I put a led plate light on top of plate. Looks really good.

My truck had it in the trailer hitch as well when I bought it. But I quickly realized that if you tow anything, you're out of luck.

If you want to not take away from the pretty spare. The center bore of the tire carrier is kinda long, I cut it down when I used to use a fancy spare on my second H2.

Also ran one of these once, if you don't use your truck for towing, but if you wanted to put a hitch step on, I'd use the style above.

My current set up, just welded a piece of steel stock to the tow hook and got a cheap plate light.

Attached a little piece of angle iron to the bumper, then mounted the plate right to it...no light, though; but wouldn't be hard to rig one of those up considering the wiring for the trailer is right there in the bumper.
