Ordered my Do-it-yourself kit off Ebay last week. And I have to tell you guys, it only took me 2hrs to fix this myself. GM dealer quoted me $400 plus labor to repair and I was able to do it on $45 bucks and 2hrs of labor.#GM:raar:

did you replace the stepper motors, lights, or what? I've seen many vids on replacing both and it really doesn't look too bad. Hell of a lot better than blowing hundreds of dollars for someone else to do it that's for sure.

Stepper motor for speedometer was replaced, didn't change the others since they were operating normal.Thinking of swapping out the gauge bulbs for LED's in the future and maybe an Escalade gauge cluster background.

I had my alt gauge go out then my speedo started acting up, so I bought all 7 motors on ebay. The seller I bought mine from included gauge cluster bulbs and some solder wick. I went to the r shack and bought a solder sucker bulb instead. Worked great. If your going to get in there and do it yourself replace all of them at the same time. After I did mine I felt so good I helped out my sister by fixing her overhead console digital gauge on her 03 super duty truck. It just needed some chips soldered.

Nice pic of the circuitboard. When I changed the stepper motor for my speedometer I noticed that the bulb appears to be soldered in. Are they? I didn't want to touch them to try and figure it out, due to greasy fingers causing the bulbs to burn out once it was reinstalled.

#BULBS not bulb.Sorry.I am thinking of upgrading the bulbs to LED's.My air compressor gauge on the far left appears to be blown or real dim.

I didn't replace any bulbs but they do look like they are soldered in.

If this is something you think is over your head, just about every major citys craigslist has someone posting repair on these clusters from $75-$150 which usually includes all new stepping motors and switching over to LEDS.

The seller I bought mine from was "guaranteedsavings" he doesn't seem to have any listed now. I bought mine in July last year.

Bought my repair kit from a guy called Romeo_Electrical for $44.00 it comes with 4 upgraded American-made stepper motors,a solder sucker,a low temp soldering iron(so that you don't burn out your circuit board),solder and step-by-step instructions with pictures. It's also good advice to go on Youtube and search "Stepper motor repair" before you actually do it yourself to get better insight on the instructions included with this kit.Kit makes the job so easy, you just might want to start making money on the side repairing clusters yourself.Went online today and seller is still selling these kits.

The step motors are going for $3 a piece.A full 7 motor upgrade and solder would cost a minimum of $25. If you got it fixed for $50, :shhh: he won't be doing it at that price for long. Majority of the repairs are done for $150 on Ebay and online. He's only making $25 per job.

Just replaced all 7 motors tonight. It was very easy to fix yourself and beats the dealer prices. My speedo was bad but replaced them all.
