Okay I know I sound like a hick. Just comes with the territory, but I use the onstar every now and then during traffic for hands free usage. Anyhoo, I get so aggrivated with this "computer-lady", when I say "5", she "hears"..."9"!!!

and when I say "9" she "hears" 5!!!

Uh and then she has the nerve to tell a southerner to speak "slower"!!!

HA!

She complains to me all the time about how fast I talk, too! :-) However, she never questions this former midwesterner about which number she meant. <grin>

I have not yet use the Hummer phone yet. The On*Star you talked about here must be the phone service, not road, direction or reservation service. I still use my regular cell phone. How's On'Star's phone rate and coverage? Is there a way to use the Hummer phone/mic but through other carrier?

Yes Mac I only use the On*Star for when I forget my phone. I bought 100 minutes for $39 bucks and I do about two 4 hour trips per month. ALong these trips I don't have coverage with my cell phone and I use the onstar to call family to let them know of arrival and for emergency use...yada yada...

So no, I use my cell phone with speaker phone attachment instead of the onstar all the time. I don't talk and drive with a cell phone bc:

1. YOU LOOK STUPID TALKING ON CELL PHONE While DRIVING.

2. It's not safe. NO ONE can possibly drive with full concentration while talking. NO ONE!!! There are no exceptions and I am diagnosed with ADHD and I can multi-task but I cannot talk and drive. Just too dangerous.

3. There is nothing THAT is so IMPORTANT that it cannot wait 5 minutes.

I may be the only corn-dog that actually pulls over to talk on the phone, but that's just me!!!

~safety-nerd~ signing off!!!!

I must have been a COP in a past life!
