It is all about campaign funds for state elections but we all know that even if he isn't convicted, it will become one of the Dem talking point for any election http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Yet one of "their" dunces drives a car off a bridge, while drunk, and kills a woman, but his fat ass is still in office!!! Go figure http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Read the indictment. It is posted at The Smoking Gun. Mentions DeLay in one place but doesn't directly say he did anything but engage in a conspiracy. Ronnie Earle, the DA, is well known for his political witch hunts against Republicans. He got Sen Kay Bailey Hutchinson indicted some years ago. The indictment was tossed so fast she never appeared in a courtroom. I predict a first amenment battle here.

I guess Delay is standing on that this is just polically motivated and that he will fight it tooth and nail because he did nothing wrong. I sure hope thats what ends up coming out of this.

They're all criminals. They're also good at hiding it.

Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle, who has not been shy about aiming at big targets, is investigating a political committee set up by Tom DeLay. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
If this was the Clinton's all the records would be hidden in a closet. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

The Da that went for this indictment, tried 4 previous times for this. Each time a grand jury said there was nothing there. I agree with the witchunt theory.

Evidently this charge is very hard to prove to a jury, and is usually never the only charge in an indictment. The liberal DA is probably just trying to generate bad press hoping to influence the next elections

Well, here's my prediction...given that one can get an indictment on a ham sandwich in Texas, I doubt there is any real substance to the charges and Delay will spend less time in trouble over this than the politically motivated Democrat DA. He made the following statement at a Dem Fund Raiser just before obtaining the indictment, "We'll get him. But if we don't get Tom Delay this time, we'll get another Tom Delay another time." The Tx Bar is already looking into disbarment proceedings - not that the press will cover any of it. Watch closely though and I can almost guarantee that this moron political hack DA will end up in more trouble than Delay.

But the bad press will linger for a while....

That's probably just what they wanted. F$ckin democrats...I really think they hate all Americans!

Conspiracy charge was dropped but "money laundering" was not. Let me say that the latter is a bogus charge -- -- what DeLay was doing fully disclosed and within the rules. It will result in an acquittal or dropped charges before the first day of trial. Ronnie Earle is a grandstanding Bozo.

Best regards,
