So i like my 2006 except for two things.

the ride sucks. The interior creaking and rattling is driving me insane. I'm debating whether i should update to the 08 or if i can fix these issues.

Im not sure what the differences are in the suspension from an 06 to an 08 but the 08 definitely has a much smoother ride. Can updates be made to the 06 to achieve the same results?

Personally i like the interior look of the 06 better than the 08. but the interior noise in the 08 is practically non existent. Has anyone been able to address the noise issues either with dynamat or some other method? I am also a bit confused as to the origin of some of the noises. Some of the posts i have read seem to point to creaking being a result of the actually weld seams in various panels.

any input is appreciated.

Just crank up the music and the rattles will go away.

I went from an 04 to an 08 because of all the squeaks and creaks. 08 much better machine for sure. The older interior does look more h2 worthy but is not near the fit and finish of the 08s. You also get the much more powerful 6.2

I went the OPPOSITE way of most people and upgraded from the standard to the air suspension and was very happy with the ride on my H2. Most people get rid of the air suspension, but I've been very happy with it. I did most of it on my own, BUT it was about 1400 for parts, if you can find them now. I also went with an aftermarket compressor. No problems 5 years since the installation.

Buy a bunch of packs of felt pads from ACE, the little circle felt pads. I have put those things everywhere in my 06 and stopped a lot of the interior noises. The major culprits I have found are on the doors.

The covers under the interior door handles, put felts on all 4 corners.

Door window switches, pop the whole switch out, felts on all four corners.

Center console, remove the shifter assembly/trim and felt that up.

Pretty much anywhere I notice noise, throw those felts between the plastic!
