Has anyone installed this?

http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=63-3037

If so, what are your thoughts? Any noticeable difference? What year model do you have? How does it sound (my most important question)?

Thanks!!!

Yes, their is an increase in intake "roar" under load but is actually an improvement in my opinion. On my H2 it is in no way objectionable, with ZERO vibration.
I removed mine because it did not seal off completely, as the factory does, from under hood air. Yesterday I reinstalled the K&N system & sealed around the front/rear edges to eliminate hot air from entering the filter area & will use it again.
Don't expect much improvement from an Intake kit, the H2 factory cold air system is well designed.

Ok, so I'm hearing, don't waste the $300.00. Done. Thanks, guys.

Bill,

An intake as a stand alone system may not make a material difference. However, in conjunction with a good exhaust system the end result may produce more that than the sum of the parts alone.

As for the K&N, I also had a K&N FIPK in my Tundra and it was loud! That's why this time around I ordered an AirAid Jr. which retains the original air box. It has a high flow replacement filter and a less restrictive MIT. I also got a throttle body spacer as well. I bought these for my Yukon and I'll let you know how it goes.

At this point I only have th stock exhaust but I am hoping for a better throttle response. Kacy

Assuming that their published dyno chart is accurate, there appears to be a 5 hp gain at 4,000 RPM and 11.4 hp gain at 4,500 RPM. Those are negligible amounts and at very high revs. At 3,700 RPM and below, HP is unchanged.

Not worth the trouble of installation in my book.

I installed the K&N system as well.

I am getting a bad vibration as well at full throttle. I am finally glad to know where it is coming from.

Intimidator were you able to do anything to stop the vibration?

I absolutely hate the sound.

I also duelled mine out and it seems pretty loud and gritty. If anyone else has duelled out please tell me what size in dia. tail pipes did you use? I think they may have used to small of pipe on mine.

Loosen the 2 clamps on the hose connector here & gently push, or pry the tube against the housing then re-tigthten the clamps while holding pressure on the tube. This will give you just enough clearance to eliminate the fan from contacting the tube at high RPM. Good luck.
