Just had a new flowmaster replacement muffler installed this morning. It sounds very good, very deep exterior sound. Only a little louder inside. I have checked out all the new stuff out there that are bolt on replacements and I don't see the point of changing it all. The factory pipe is 2,7/8di and most replacement stuff it 2.5 to 3inch. Best of all is that it's welded on like the factory,no clamps and was only $200.00! installed...Just wanted to let everyone know that just because we drive Hummers we don't have to pay top dollar to make it perform better.. Just my two cents...C

Thanks

They used a Flowmaster 50 series suv muffler from a Denali or Esclade. It comes with the an adaptor pipe to make it fit properly. Seems that the factory muffler they use for the H2 is the same for the gm trucks and suv's over the gm product line so the fit was almost perfect. As I said its not a bolt on part and does require welding but it works and looks great! In fact it looks like a stock install. I will get some pics of the install soon and post them here. No more rattle and poping from the stock muffler that the dealer replaced three times. And I say again $200.00!!

I aslo put a FlowMaster 50 series DeltaFlow II on my rig. It really sounds great now!! I had originally thought about going with that extremeflow for $600+ but talked w/ a friend of mine that had put on the FlowMaster and gave it big thumbs up. When I can keep my foot off the throttle(love the new sound) I've been getting about a 1-2 mile per gallon increase in mileage.

We just ordered a flowmaster yesterday.
Here is the site to hear it.

The muffler# I got is #530513.
We are just changing the muffler as well. $155 from 4wheel parts and $40 down the street to install.

I am happy to know that there are H2 owners that did not have to pay $600 plus for there muffler upgrade. Well I have had the new muffler on one day now and I am up from 10.7 to 10.9 per gallon. In one day! I can't wait to see what a month will do. Flomaster is the only way to go! Sounds so good too!http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif C

I looked at the Flowmaster web site (50 series & 50 Delta Flow) and cannot find muffler #530513 - Is this thew model number all of you are using or are there others from Flowmaster for H2. Thanks for the help.

Its a 50 series big block suv muffler. Sorry I can't find the model number right now but I will look for it and post it here. The muffler on the H2 is the same as the the other GM full size suv's made in 2003. I talked to Flowmaster about four days ago. They told me what muffler was http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.giffor the H2 and that if I wanted to wait they would have a bolt on cat back system ready in a few months. You know I can't wait for that now can I! C

I guess $200 wouldn't be so bad to test out.
Here are some other mufflers people have commented on.

Okay another beginners question from me. I'm looking to possibly change the muffler and air intake on my H2. I see flowmaster and a few other names being tossed about. I originally thought of going to the xtremeflow systems. Are there other intake and muffler systems that will give me an increase in milage and power thru the entire rpm band, and not cost as much aprox. $1200 installed?

I haven't checked out my warranty information booklet just yet, but I'm wondering if these muffler mods void anything. I'm thinking about a flowmaster for the deeper sound.

I decided to go with two 40 delta series flowmasters instead of a single 50 series. They have an aggressive sound at full throttle outside with not much interior noise at all. Paid $200 installed. Happy with my decision.

Shaheen,
I want to feel happy with every purchase I make http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif,it don't always happen http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif but it is what matters. Spending $200 on my muffler and install is acceptable http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif to me,$600 or more is not http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. Good decision on your mufflers Shaheen and welcome to the club... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifC

I just checked the soundbites again and have to lean towards how the 40 series sounds.

Deep-throaty sound. I'm not a fan of the higher pitched whine sound that some mufflers resonate. I like the "harley" sound w/ some American Eagles attached.

I'm not really bothered by interior noise as I usually have the stereo turned up pretty good.

I'll probably have to talk to a tech at the shop before deciding anything.

Thanks for the reply.
