I've read the threads that everyone has posted regarding headers, lengths, etc. and just wondered if you folks that have now had them on for awhile would leave some comments about your experience?

Are you pleased with your choice? Why & why not?

Any reaction to the ol' butt dyno? Mileage change??

What about your combination with a cat back system? How'd that work out for you?

Not interested in how it sounds but how it works.

Appreciate everyone's feedback!

I have the Edelbrock Ceramic's and like them. An easy install that doesn't require any modifications (bolt directly on).

Hey H2 Bill, did you install your headers yourself? If so was it easy? Any tips? I ordered a set of Gibson stainless steel headers and a Corsa exhaust system. I can't wait untill they arrive.

I am thinking about installing all of it myself. I enjoy working on my vehicles because I don't have to now. When I was younger, I used to have to fix my own cars, and I hated it. I get a sense of accomplishment when I complete some mechanical task.

H2 Daddy, yes they were a piece of cake. No welding or bending involved.

H2 Bill

Did you take the tires off and then remove the header bolts thru the wheel well?

Did all the header bolts come out easily?

I plan on soaking the bolts with WD40 for a day before I start.

No, I did it from the top. Some of the bolts for the collectors were easier to get to through the wheel well and from underneath. I just cranked the steering wheel depending on which side I was on. All of the bolts removed easily.

Finally got my truck back with the edelbrock headers installed. Well I feel it... I know that's not very scientific but my commuter car is a 700 HP corvette so I think my senses are pretty good.

I live and drive in an area with many hills so it wasn't very hard to determine that it picked up low end torque. More get up and go at less RPM.

I have 200 miles since picking it up yesterday and I resetted the average MPG when I got it. So far it shows a .9 MPG improvement with the headers. Same driving habit, same roads.

Time will tell but they are easily worth the money IMHO.

I installed my Corsa cat back system on Saturday. My Gibson stainless steel headers have not arrived yet.

I can feel a slight improvement in acceleration, but the benefit is mostly in the sound. I got the off-road "touring" version, which is a little quiet. That is ok though, because I haul clients around. If you don't have the client issue as a concern, I would suggest the Corsa sport version. I really like the quietness of the Corsa exhaust system at cruising speeds. I think it is even quieter than the stock system. Though, when you floor the gas pedal the system really growls.

My Gibson headers should be arriving any day now. I will report back after I install them.
