New to off roading and interested in going on some trails but nothing too demanding/serious (newbie). Just got a h2 and a bud of mine purchased a Rubicon. Recommend any place in malibu or on the out-skirts of Los Angeles?
appreciate it!

I usually head up to Gorman (Hungry Valley) or to Azusa Canyon. I like Hungry Valley because you can choose your level of carnage. There is a 4x4 "practice" area, and 100's of miles of trails with hills/obstacles ranging from boring to insane. I've broken my truck on one particular hill more times than I care to remember. fun fun fun!
Azusa is fun too. There are water crossings and hills to play on, though not as many hills as Hungry Valley. I like to go and watch all the locals mud-boggin' their home-made beasts. Last time I was there the military showed up to practice extracting their 6x6 trucks from the mud.
I am in Studio City, Gorman is 55 miles north, Azusa canyon is about 45 miles east. Let me know if you guys go and I'll join you.

Koaladrew, this is the local SoCal chapter link (http://h2club.org/6/ubb.x?a=frm&s=8296099471&f=8756030324).
Not an active board for postings, but you'll find notices of runs (usually 1 a month).
