Sort of on this topic of hood vent looking trough it. We are building a mirrored stainless replacement for the insulation on the bottom side of hood. What We have done is take the hood vent chrome billet and cut hole in the fiberglass hood and the black plastic so that the vent acts like a reverse cowling. Allot of the heat from the radiator is drawn up and out over the hood up and over wind shield. We are building a small scoop that hangs down from that opening on the inside so it will catch more of the radiator hot air and hope to increase air flow volume. We have several other ideas to bring in fresh air and remove more heated air in engine bay.
Just jogged My memory when the clear hood vent was mentioned. It of course has been hand made and not easy but, once We are done and the patent is pending We have a company that is going to stamp them out so the cost will be reasonable.

they might also look good if somehow you could incorporate LED lights to make the acrylic "glow".

As the Supreme Lord of All Hummerness, I command you to stop talking about this abomination.
That is all.
