Check with your Hummer dealer. Many Hummer dealers organize off-roads events near the dealership locations.

I had a H1 before I got the H2 and did some good off roading on L.I.
I would first go an get a permit by Robert Mosses.;Captree Beach.
This will give you access to all the state beaches.
There are also some off road trails out on L.I.
Get in touch with me so that maybe we could have some fun off roading with the H2 group.

Local NJ resident here. I'm close enough to Long Island that if a small group would like to get together from Dec 18th to Jan 11th then maybe 3 or 4 of us could do some winter wheeling in Long Island. JRBBIKERX@AOL.com is my email. Anyone interested in wheeling, email me please. Off Roading is a great experience if done properly and with respect to the lands, and can be a great time!

regarding paloduro canyon - the pictures on the web site are spectacular. Have you been there 4-wheeling and if so how would you rate the experience?

H2fan, you need to plan a day trip to southern NJ in the Pine Barons. I don't think there is anything like it closer to you, the beach will not be very interesting. I grew up in this area and have never come across good offroading on LI. And you have a week off, go up to Maine and you will be in H2 heaven!

It's good to see some more North Eastern H2ers coming out. I was getting afraid that there were no other H2's outside of Cali. Have you ever heard one of those people order a cup of coffee?(1/2 caf/decaf, 1/4 latte, lowfat carmel triple mochiato with 1/3sugar,1/3 sweetnlow, 1/3equal)
Anyway we would love to go out and use our rig with the rest of you. We are clueless as to where to go, so if anyone nearby has a suggestion please email me.
